Hola a todos, el otro día me topé con un concurso que me pareció muy interesante, el tema de esta semana fué recrear a la Carla, la enfermera zombie, me gustó particularmente porque tiene varios elementos que me parecieron un autentico reto, empezando por el cabello abultado, el cual traté de hacerlo lo mejor que pude, también hay pequeños detalles que me parecen bastante interesantes de trabajar como la parte donde no hay piel, pensé en como se vería mas realista, y bueno, hice lo mejor que pude, espero les guste el resultado. ^^
Hello everyone, the other day I came across a contest that I found very interesting. The theme for this week was recreating Carla, the zombie nurse. I liked it particularly because it has several elements that I found to be a real challenge. Starting with the voluminous hair, which I tried to do the best I could with. There are also small details that I find quite interesting to work on, like the part where there is no skin. I thought about how to make it look more realistic, and well, I did the best I could. I hope you like the result. ^^
Carla War Nurse
Comenzamos haciendo el boceto.
We start doing the sketch.
Entonces, creo nuevas capas con los colores mas oscuros de cada parte del cuerpo del personaje.
Then, I create new layers with the most darker colors of each part of the body of the character.
Uso colores ligeramente mas claros para definir mejor el dibujo y darle algo de profundidad.
I use slightly lighter colors to better define the drawing and give it some depth.
Al ir repasando con colores mas claros las areas que me interesa que reciban mayor cantidad de luz, llego a darle un efecto mas logrado que si hiciese este proceso alreves, a su vez vemos como cada capa va complementandose bien con el resto, y de paso aplico ligeras variaciones en la tonalidad de la ropa para que se vea mas realista.
As I go over the areas I want to receive more light with lighter colors, I achieve a more realistic effect than if I did this process the other way around. We can also see how each layer complements the rest nicely, and I also apply subtle variations in the tone of the clothing to make it look more realistic.
Utilizo una capa con efecto de multiplicar, de esta manera solo tengo que usar el color rojo para dibujarla sobre la parte blanca, y se va a acoplar a los tonos claros y oscuros.
I use a layer with a multiply effect, so I only have to use the color red to draw it over the white part, and it will blend with the light and dark tones.
Pinto de un color mas claro por un lado para que se pueda notar mejor la distribución de la luz en el cabello, también agrego manchas verdes, tal como en la imagen de referencia, y sobre la misma capa les aplico degradado.
I paint with a lighter color on one side to better show the light distribution in the hair. I also add green spots, just like in the reference image, and apply a gradient on the same layer.
Con una capa con efecto de superposición, consigo que el cabello tenga colores ligeramente mas vivos.
With an overlay layer, I make the hair have slightly more vibrant colors.
Ahora hago los gusanos aplicando algunas cuantas capas en las que distribuyo la luz tal y como hice con las demas partes del cuerpo.
Now I create the worms by applying several layers where I distribute the light as I did with the other parts of the body.
Comienzo con el fondo, agregando un color base.
I start with the background by adding a base color.
Aplico degradados tanto en la parte clara como en la oscura.
I apply gradients to both the light and dark areas.
Utilizo una capa con efecto luminico para hacer los rayos de luz entrando en la habitación, y con un par de lineas con efecto de sombra relleno un poco el fondo para que no luzca muy simple.
I use a layer with a lighting effect to create the rays of light entering the room, and with a couple of lines with a shadow effect, I fill in the background a bit to make it not look too plain.
