Proverbios 20:24-30
24 De Jehová son los pasos del hombre;
¿Cómo, pues, entenderá el hombre su camino?
25 Lazo es al hombre hacer apresuradamente voto de consagración,
Y después de hacerlo, reflexionar.
26 El rey sabio avienta a los impíos,
Y sobre ellos hace rodar la rueda.
27 Lámpara de Jehová es el espíritu del hombre,
La cual escudriña lo más profundo del corazón.
28 Misericordia y verdad guardan al rey,
Y con clemencia se sustenta su trono.
29 La gloria de los jóvenes es su fuerza,
Y la hermosura de los ancianos es su vejez.
30 Los azotes que hieren son medicina para el malo,
Y el castigo purifica el corazón.

La familias suelen encargarse del cuidado de sus ancianos. Se observa la dedicación, cuidado y atenciones. En el plano social, pasados los 60 años significara ser relegados a un segundo plan en áreas de trabajo y ciertas participaciones publicas. La búsqueda de la eterna juventud, se maximiza en la belleza corporal, la salud y en posponer el envejecimiento. ¡Oh profundidad del orden divino! Dios estableció los tiempos, y la vejez, corona de satisfacciones es la conclusión de la vida eterna. Cada tramo que se vive tiene su encanto, la niñez es ternura y movimientos, la juventud fuerza y belleza, la adultez realizaciones y de la ancianidad, la vejez es su belleza.
¿Habrá realmente belleza en la vejez? Los cambios experimentados negarían esta pregunta. La palabra bíblica de hoy nos lleva a pensar que si, que existe belleza, y que esa belleza esta contenida justamente en las características propias de la vejez.
El cúmulo de experiencias, los gestos cálidos y por momentos ingenuos, la lentitud en los movimientos, caminar acompasados, nos transmite la idea de serenidad, de armonía, sabiduría y mas aun, de tareas terminadas. ¿No es belleza este despliegue de vida? Si que lo es. La diferencias entre jóvenes y ancianos, pudieran llevarnos a conclusiones extremas: desestimar la vejez y resaltar la juventud. Lo cierto, es que una generación va seguida de otra generación, no se producen saltos automáticos y esta realidad es hermosamente bella, si se asume con una determinación divina.
Acompañar a los ancianos en su término de días, confirmar la belleza que poseen les colmara de felicidad.

How, then, will man understand his path?
25 The bond is to the man hastily making a vow of consecration,
And after doing so, reflect.
26 The wise king fans the wicked,
And on them he rolls the wheel.
27 Jehovah's lamp is the spirit of man,
Which searches the deepest part of the heart.
28 Mercy and truth keep the king,
And his throne is leniently sustained.
29 The glory of the young is their strength,
And the beauty of the elderly is their old age.
30 The lashes that wound are medicine for the wicked,
And punishment purifies the heart.

Families often take care of their elders. Dedication, care and attention are observed. On the social level, after 60 years it will mean being relegated to a second plan in work areas and certain public participation. The search for eternal youth is maximized in body beauty, health and in postponing aging. O depth of the divine order! God established the times, and old age, crown of satisfactions is the conclusion of eternal life. Each section that is lived has its charm, childhood is tenderness and movements, youth strength and beauty, adulthood realizations and old age, old age is its beauty.
Will there really be beauty in old age? The changes experienced would negate this question. The biblical word of today leads us to think that yes, that there is beauty, and that this beauty is contained precisely in the characteristics of old age.
The accumulation of experiences, the warm gestures and at times naive moments, the slow movements, the rhythmic walk, transmits to us the idea of serenity, of harmony, wisdom and even more, of finished tasks. Is not this unfolding of life beauty? Yes it is. The differences between young and old, could lead us to extreme conclusions: dismissing old age and highlighting youth. The truth is that one generation is followed by another generation, there are no automatic jumps and this reality is beautifully beautiful, if it is assumed with divine determination.
Accompany the elderly in their period of days, confirm the beauty they possess will fill them with happiness.
