The plane has landed

The plane with the desgination HF24-Eclipse has landed, but some items may have shifted in transit. Please use caution when opening your overhead bins and retrieving your carry-ons.

It truly amazes me how many people didn't realize that a HardFork was in-progress a few hours ago. There have been so freaking many posts about the Hardfork over the past few weeks, authored by and/or reblogged by @hiveio, @blocktrades, @gtg, @aggroed, @arcange, @enginewitty, @c0ff33a, @derangedvisions, @hextech, @deathwing, and others. Also, countless announcements were made in dozens of Discord servers and tweets were posted on Twitter. I don't see how anyone could have not known this was coming.

AND YET...

So many people came into Discord today, complaining that they couldn't post, their wallets were showing 'zero' balances, etc. Most of those people replied, "Oh, really...?" when told about the HardFork. 😳 Some people said, "I really need to transfer funds today..." rather than doing it before the HardFork started. It is amazing how much support was requested while the HardFork was in progress.

Also, there were people who came into the official Hive Discord during the HardFork to ask about the Hive they didn't receive when the Hive blockchain launched. They didn't wait for the dust to settle and came in, demanding explanations from the witnesses while the latter were still working to complete the fork. That's like bursting into the cockpit of an aircraft while the pilot is trying to safely land the plane and demanding to know why they didn't get their bag of peanuts. 🙄 That could have effing waited until after the dust settled.

Personally, I think the witnesses and developers did a smashing job on the development and testing of this hardfork. The deployment went down with relatively little trouble and disruption. Those of us who really love Hive are grateful for the diligence given to HF24! Thank you!
