On Fridays we get water coming onto the land but the new part of the garden wasn't actually ready because I was a day behind, and on Friday I thought it was Thursday and I so I had not left enough time to dig out the shallow trench for the water.
I came across a few random objects..
Luckily there was no baby attached to the shoe
Below are the two rows of bean plants, one yellow variety, the other is a sorter bushier type I think. We have now planted out the Cucumbers and Courgettes in the second picture below
Photos from after watering aka flooding
The waterway hadnt been used for many years and you could just about feel it with your foot under the long grass. I lost the long tool which was needed to dig with, this wasted most of the previous evening (it had been covered with long grass that I had ripped up.)
There was a good fifty meters that needed digging out as the bottom part was done, but I had no clue there would be so much water 🤣 The water came a couple of hours earlier than I thought so it was a muddy job.
At the Garden
I started where the beans are and connected it to where the pumpkins are.
it happened that the water needed to flow across the pathway and I looked around for some metal pipe that I could use for the water to pass under the ground, but in the end it was done with a thick piece of plywood.
The water flows under the path
So now I know for next Friday
How much water there will be comming, and be ready for it! It started of slow and then after dinner 20mins later, it looked like this!
I hadnt even made an exit point to the next garden as I thought that water was just at a trickle, and was chilling out eating food whilst the plants were near on submerged under water haha!
A half arsed job did the trick, but we had to redirect the water and Im not sure what would have happened if we left it flowing overnight as planned 🤣
