El momento histórico que atravesamos se caracteriza por considerar "la verdad, una ofensa grave" y "la tolerancia", una licencia para compartir cuanta mentira quiero, insultar a quien no apoya mi opinión y en los peores casos actuar con total impunidad.
Al mirar las iglesias quemadas, la "cancelación" de personajes por sus opiniones, "los actos públicos justificados" de prácticas que van en contra de los derechos humanos, de la moral y de la libertad individual, así como el hostigamiento de personas de orientación sexual que no quiere pertenecer a colectivos políticos, entiendo que es la tolerancia la excusa para ser intolerantes.
Se vuelve la tolerancia, un anti valor, porque sirve para que tú me leas, pero me autoriza a mí a vilipendiarte, ofenderte y atacar tu integridad moral y física, si tus opiniones y comentarios van en contra de lo que yo deseo que tú aceptes. Es una gran peligro porque el uso ideológico de la tolerancia se está utilizando como bandera, reclamando indulgencias y permisos para "supuestos grupos invisibilizados" que se hacen visibles desde el odio y el resentimiento, cuyas voces de reclamos vemos y escuchamos en los medios de comunicación, volviéndose virales en las redes sociales, pero cuyos actos de agresión, ofensa y violencia no aparece para contrastar.
Por ello, cuando no estamos de acuerdo con la opinión del otro recurrimos al lenguaje de lo políticamente correcto para exigir que la persona diga lo que yo quiero, que opine como lo deseo y actúe a mi conveniencia, de lo contrario será llamado intolerante, tradicionalista o conservador, promotor del odio y de las estructuras de poder dominantes.
Es así, que teniendo la tolerancia como "justificación" caemos en una peligrosa espiral de relativismo moral absoluto, donde la pluralidad de pensamiento muere, el diálogo constructivo se queda vacío de contenido y la violencia florece con impunidad, violando toda norma social de convivencia.
Es hoy la intolerancia, la gran excusa para que seamos indiferentes y violentos, privilegiando ideologías totalitarias y haciendo que la verdad sea una quimera, con lo cual convivir como sociedad plural y diversa se hace imposible, por ello mi voz, para invitarte a recuperar la tolerancia como lo que es un valor para construir en la pluralidad.
Tolerance as an excuse
The historical moment we are going through is characterized by considering "truth, a serious offense" and "tolerance", a license to share as many lies as I want, insult those who do not support my opinion and in the worst cases act with total impunity.
Looking at the burned churches, the "cancellation" of characters for their opinions, "justified public acts" of practices that go against human rights, morals and individual freedom, as well as the harassment of people of sexual orientation who do not want to belong to political groups, I understand that tolerance is the excuse to be intolerant.
Tolerance becomes an anti-value, because it serves for you to read me, but it authorizes me to vilify you, offend you and attack your moral and physical integrity, if your opinions and comments go against what I want you to accept. It is a great danger because the ideological use of tolerance is being used as a banner, claiming indulgences and permissions for "supposed invisible groups" that become visible from hatred and resentment, whose voices of claims we see and hear in the media, becoming viral in social networks, but whose acts of aggression, offense and violence does not appear to contrast.
Therefore, when we do not agree with the opinion of the other, we resort to the language of political correctness to demand that the person says what I want, that he/she gives his/her opinion as I wish and acts at my convenience, otherwise he/she will be called intolerant, traditionalist or conservative, promoter of hatred and of the dominant power structures.
Thus, with tolerance as "justification" we fall into a dangerous spiral of absolute moral relativism, where plurality of thought dies, constructive dialogue remains empty of content and violence flourishes with impunity, violating all social norms of coexistence.
Today intolerance is the great excuse for us to be indifferent and violent, privileging totalitarian ideologies and making truth a chimera, with which living together as a plural and diverse society becomes impossible, therefore my voice, to invite you to recover tolerance as what is a value to build in plurality.
