One of the biggest things i heard from people that were in New York City at that time, that i never hear mentioned anywhere else is that they didn't allow people to go home if they lived down near the Twin Towers. Not even to get their pets.
And so, many pets died that week.
Martial law was declared... and no one even mentions it.
They didn't allow people back in until after the finished sweeping up all the evidence.
Here is another story that we rarely hear of.
Rick Rescorla saved the lives of most of Morgan Stanley.
By getting on a bullhorn and telling everyone to leave the building.

He died after going back into the tower to make sure everyone of his people were out.

What is amazing to me is all the people that weren't there on that day.
So many people had some kind of excuse to not be there. From missed planes, traffic congestions and even bad dreams.
One of my favorite podcasters of old was supposed to be at the top of the tower to give a report about a back door in the govern-cement accounting software that would allow people to hide transactions.

After he missed his date for execution, he started digging deep into conspiracies.

It was a terrible tragedy, but it really showed the man behind the curtain.
The most important thing to know is that there are people out there that will destroy people's lives, and the PETS, just to enact some laws.
