If am to pick one type food and feed on it for the rest of my life, it will be Rice.

Introduction.

Food is life.
Food is said to be any nutritious substance one eat or drink in other to maintain life and growth. Food is an essential in our daily lives as it helps keep us fit and stable physically mentally and otherwise.
There are varieties of edibles or food but if am to pick one and feed on it for the rest of my life, I would pick "Rice"
.Rice (Oryza sativa) is one of the most important cereal grains in the world today and serves as a staple food source for more than half of the world’s population. It is said to have originated from Eastern India and japonica. Rice production started in Nigeria in 1500 BC with the low-yielding indigenous red grain species O. glaberrima Steud, then widely grown in the Niger delta area (Hardcastle, 1959).


Different ways I can prepare my rice.

Rice is a cereal grain that it'seprepared in different ways by different races but to concentrate on my know ways I'll start by listing out the once know and can be prepare.

1. Rice and stew :-

This dish is a dish held up with so much regards and respect that it's prepared on very special days like Sundays or for special occasions or guests. When accompanied with chicken or goat meat it releases an aroma that makes the tummy rumble with excitement and the mouth drool in joy.

2. Fried rice :-

Just like the big sister mentioned above, this is the foreign cousin that comes with a sofisticated demeanor, it never walks alone, it's come along with its minions that adds it's survival. They may include; green beans, bell pepper, hotdog, canned corn and lots more I won't mention. It is mostly prepared at home or during special occasions for special guests. It is not cooked by all unlike the jollof and stewed rice, this is because it's ego can easily be hurt causeing a damage that repairs can not be an option to.

3. Jollof rice :-

This is a method of cooking rice that requires careful curation and steps involved to achieve a mouth savory dish. When prepared to a certain standard nutritional value is heightened as we can find almost all the six classes of food in one dish. That is; carbohydrates from the rice itself ,fats and oil from the oil or margarine used, vitamin and mineral from the fresh tomatoes and onions, protein from the meat or seafood added and water and essential liquid has no replacement.

4. Banga rice :-

Kindly welcome the aunty of Nigerian rice, all the way from home. It requires no foreign guest, just the homely banga fruits and smoked fish and lots of hybanero pepper to set the tongue and stomache on fire.
When it is required in a low budget, with just our red oil, crayfish, salt and pepper a good cook can mannover and do the trick within 30mins the hungry belly is satisfied and the tired cook is at rest and grateful for a job well done.

4. Rice pudding :-

Having this has cancelled any thoughts of cereals just add you milk and sugar and you are good to go.


Conclusions.

The above listed are just the ones I know and can prepare anytime I am called upon. However, am sure there are a many other ways to prepare rice.

With the various ways of rice preparation which i had listed above, I hope you are convinced that rice is the best pick over all other types of food

Finally, other reasons that made me choose rice is that it's fast to prepare and it is presentable.
