I am a lover of good food, and anywhere food is happening, I'm always a fan. I'm used to people calling me a foodie, I accept though because I haven't seen someone who doesn't eat. And mine is just like any normal person so loving food isn't a crime, it's the end of the year, and many gatherings are taking place everywhere with surplus food to eat. Christmas is all about love and sharing and thanks to my set of friends, they are lovers of good vibes and positive energy.
I attend a church where the youth have their programs separately and due to the youthful energy in us, it's always different. I wasn't expecting any gathering recently as there weren't plans for it and every one of us didn't bring up the topic of having a gathering to celebrate the end of the year together as one big family. I was out last week Friday to get some things I needed for the holiday and it took much of its time as I had planned the whole day for it. With the thinking of not going anywhere, I took my time to walk around the market and price things from different shops just to make sure I got them at cheaper rates.
As I was about to round up, I got a call from one of my friends who asked me to dress up and come to church because the pastor wanted to see all the youth executives, "it is an urgent meeting" she said. She knows that is the only thing she can tell me to get me down there without me questioning her, I told her where I was at the time she called and told her I would need some time to get home and change my clothes. I immediately rushed home, freshened up, and hurried to the church. On getting there, I was expecting to meet everywhere silent but rather, I heard music blaring from the speakers.

I was rushing thinking I was late for the meeting not until I entered and met others dancing to the music. "Surprise, it's a love feast" they all chorused, some part of me was angry while some part of me was happy. I never expected such since we didn't have any meetings concerning the love feast, I was told the youth coordinators planned it and decided not to tell some of us who might want to give one excuse or the other for not being available. I met different kinds of delicacies prepared for consumption, it was then I began to be fully happy. "When there is food, there is happiness", that's my motto, it was a lovely experience.

Different games such as PS4, ludo, Scrabble, and Chess were made available for everyone who has an interest. It is a gathering of love that brings us together, many of the attendees are people whom I don't talk to but last Friday, every one of us let go of our pride, freed ourselves, and enjoyed the lovely moment together. It is an event that takes place once a year and many of us who celebrated it together this year might not be together again the following year because many would have relocated or had to leave for one reason or the other. The memories shared should be cherished as no one knows tomorrow, we might meet again and when we will have to reunite and rebound.
