Tips for Newbies on Hive -| HIVENAIJA WEEKLY PROMPT #25

I know for sure that being or doing something for the first time can be overwhelming, mostly something that you don't have anyone to really guide you on how you feel you ought to be guided. Setting Hive goals for the new year as a beginner can be a thoughtful thing to do if followed with passion and relentless effort.

Being once a newbie on Hive, I can still remember what helped and stood as self motivation to me till this very day. If I want to guide a fresher on Hive, these tips belwo are the major things I will be encouraging him or her to start with. I have been onboarding Hivians and I have been telling them these things but one thing is hearing and adhering, which had been very difficult for many of them.

Though, many newbies feel doing these things are rigorous and due to that, they want to go with what they feel is better or some allow laziness to take the best part of them.

Below are three tips I will be sharing with newbies on Hive as new year unfolds

1 Know your Niche:
Not everyone can be everywhere. Maybe some can but not at the start of something new. A newbie knowing the area he or she is good at will help that person to thrive better on Hive. You can only do well at what you have passion for. Having a clear objective on where you can function effectively will guide your Hive journey.

2 Engaging with Others:

As a newbie, it is difficult to get noticed if you don't show the sign you want to get noticed. How do you show that sign? Being actively involved and participating in community contests, reading and commenting on users posts, joining active communities and engaging with members in
communities, this will bring about connectivity.

Many will want to connect with you by reading your posts, dropping insightful comments, following you up. All these can only be achieved by being consistent in your engagement with users in communities where you have identified as your niche.

3.Hive is a virtual classroom and a place of adaptation:

I might not say this verbally but many that have been engaging in my posts must have come across these words over time. Hive means so much to me apart from the curation aspect. I can proudly say that my writing skill is what it is now as a result of my getting to know Hive.

I have learnt much from other Hivians and that was as a result of my consistent engagement when I started. I encourage newbies coming on onboard to engage with others because there is so much to learn from others.

In Hive, you have the opportunity
to gain insight from others, there is more to Hive than just creating contents. Hive means different thing to different people, personal it is a community where connection is core value.

It is a place where you know how to be creative in writing through consistency, where positive feedback from others is a motivation, a place where one is open to learning and adaptation.

Conclusion
In conclusion, for the newbies, I will say you should start by giving yourself a daily content posting challenge, join active communities, participate in contests, this will help in your recognition and engagement, let this few tips be your roadmap for your Hive as next year begins, I promise these will guide you towards achieving all that Hive has to offer. Just a recap, engage, learn, be consistent and Hive.
