Una vez más pasando por aquí con este anime que me acompañó durante mi infancia, y que podía disfrutar junto con mi hermano sin pelearnos por cambiar el canal del televisor. Se trata de Meteoro, una serie que retrataba la vida de un joven corredor de automovilismo, quien busca hacerse un puesto dentro del ranking nacional, además de buscar emular los pasos de su hermano mayor, Rex, quien huyó de casa años antes, luego de una discusión con su padre. Meteoro, junto con su novia Trixie y la colaboración de su padre, quien era mecánico en estas carreras de velocidad, se van presentando en diferentes eventos relacionados con esta modalidad, encontrándose con diferentes eventos que ponen en jaque su presentación en las mismas.

Entre los personajes secundarios, se destaca el corredor X, uno que a pesar de estar en la competencia, es un aliado silencioso de Meteoro en algunos momentos de premura. Mucho más adelante nos enteramos que es el hermano mayor de Meteoro, el mismo que huyó de casa para poder seguir esta carrera, debido a la negativa de su padre a qué se dedicara a ella. Gracias a ese evento es el apoyo que tiene Meteoro de parte de Pops Racer (el nombre original de su progenitor) puesto que no toleraría perder a otro hijo más y por la misma razón. Su auto es llamado el **Mach 5**, una pieza única construida por el gran Pops, un ingeniero y constructor de autos de carrera, y que no solo es considerado el auto más rápido del mundo, sino que tiene además, ciertos extras que le permiten transitar hasta debajo del agua.

El toque jocoso de la serie viene dado por la presencia de Chispita, el hermano menor de Meteoro y su mascota Chito (chim Chim en su versién original)que es un chimpancé. Ellos también quieren participar en las aventuras de su hermano y suelen esconderse dentro de la maletera del carro o en algún otro elemento para poder viajar con ellos, pero siempre terminan metidos en problemas. También está el personaje del mecánico exclusivo del auto, a quien llaman Bujía, quien muchas veces tratando de ayudar resulta complicar un poco más las cosas.

Lo que me gustaba de este anime era que acercaba a los niños la posibilidad de entender un poco el ramo automovilístico, con todo lo que manejar un auto representa no solo en cuanto a la experiencia, sino también a la responsabilidad de estar detrás del volante. Además de hacerles saber qué es importante seguir sus sueños a pesar de las negativas de los demás, pues cuando uno tiene una meta fija es mucho más probable conseguir el éxito y eso era lo que quería Meteoro con su carrera. **Mi parte favorita?** Cuando al presionar un botón en el centro del volante, salía un aparato por debajo que lo hacía poder rebotar y adelantar a otros carros. Cuantas veces no quise que el autobús o el carro a donde me trasladaba tuviera algo similar, para sortear el tránsito!
