Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday to Everyone in the Hive Naija community. I am so excited to write on this particular topic. Looking at what Nigerians went through from January to December of last year and survived it made me know that Nigerians really have a lot to be grateful for.
Last year, 2023, was a big year for my country Nigeria. A year where a certain decision was taken which really took a great toll on the citizens. A year that almost everyone in Nigeria complained about difficulty in the country. A year that we all had to work so hard and even double our hustle in order to survive, a year we also lost a lot of lives due to inability to gain access to their money, hence not being able to assess some basic needs.
Nigeria is a unique country with unique citizens. It is one of the countries that are blessed with rich natural resources and fertile land. With this Nigeria should not be faced with hardship but we are governed and ruled by leaders who are selfish and corrupt and do not know the dynamics of leading the nation. Nigeria is one of the countries that has a rich cultural heritage with so many unique cultures and traditions. These cultures range from lifestyle, languages, Values and so on. Nigerians are resilient people known for thriving no matter the difficult situation they encounter they adapt and strive to survive. Nigerians are very Resourceful.
Last year Nigeria was faced with a terrible and a difficult situation ranging from a Cashless Economy this season affected and even killed most Nigerians because you had money but it was difficult to use your money hence this led to the death of so many people that couldn't have money to assess health care, food and other basic needs, life was very difficult for Nigerians.
Rising Inflation, the price of petroleum has been on the increase this has led to an increase in price of foodstuffs transported from one place to another. It has led to an increase in Transportation. Businesses that use petrol have also increased their prices. Price of Gas has also skyrocketed.
Despite the economic hardship one thing about Nigerians is they keep striving by working out and doubling their hustle while believing everything will come back well. Nigerians are very smart and industrious in different areas such as Academics, business, politics,Agriculture, Technology and so many others.
Last year, Leaders were voted into power. PDP has alway been the ruling presidential party in Nigeria but in 2023, there was a change in power which led to APC party resulting as the winner and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner. One thing I am grateful for is that the elections did not turn into a tribal or civil war because there were so many issues and incidents that could have led to fights but everything went successful. And today we have a peaceful Nigeria even though not a better Nigeria though we still believe that Nigeria will be better.
