Happy new week to everyone @HiveNaija community and it's yet another awesome time on the hive naija weekly prompt where different thoughts are shared and values are been added. I'm @fab-tay and i am excited to be participating in this weekly prompt edition 32 and i will be sharing on my leadership experience. In the words of John C. Maxwell, he said: "A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way" and i have found this to be true all across board as a leader over the years and at different times/phases. I know it's worth sharing, kindly read through this thread. One of the most important time/phase in my life i was required to step into leadership was in my second year as an undergraduate. I belong to a Christian fellowship where i was part of the choral group of this fellowship by the virtue of been an instrumentalist, keyboardist in specific. Among us instrumentalists are final year students and most especially those who are higher than me both in age and stay in school from different background playing different instruments and highly skilled. Moreover, on assuming thr leadership role, i met some rancour and displeasure from some of these seniors based on what the previous leadership did which they were not cool with. By the wisdom of God, every of such was handled well and we had one of the most wonderful experiences then, though aliitle bit difficult at the start but all adapted for that period of one session (one year plus) i was the leader. Through this, i learnt patience, endurance, honour etc which all helped at subsequent leadership positions.
Another prominent leadership phase where i had to assume responsibility was during my mandatory one year national service in the far north of the country despite been a southerner. I was required to step into the role of the President of the fellowship/lodge where i stayed involving both male and female from different backgrounds, schools, ethnicity and religious upbringing. It was a bit difficult trying to meet different concerns from different people as concerning food, welfarism and all of that. Also, in such a lodge, there are some guidelines to guide our interactions with one another and to foster peace and unity but which some didn't like in the name of been "adult". But on the long run, things get better as different concerns where attended to and aftet the expiration of my tenure i handed over to my successor with record achievements/breakthroughs and this phase of leadership taught me that it's possible to live and dwell together in peace with one another nomatter the differences if we actually wants to. The truth is that leadership can be tasking and is highly sacrificial, but it really worth it as it makes a better man/woman out of the individual been trained by it in all sincerity. Thank you everyone for reading and i wish us a great week ahead.
