Ayer 19 de octubre fue el cumpleaños de mi mamá, la mujer más maravillosa de este mundo. Una excelente madre, hija y hermana, querida por toda su familia, amigos y vecinos, un verdadero ejemplo de mujer luchadora.
Yesterday, October 19, was my mother's birthday, the most wonderful woman in this world. An excellent mother, daughter and sister, loved by all her family, friends and neighbors, a true example of a fighting woman.
Cuando les diga cuántos años cumplió seguramente se asombrarán, pues su personalidad alegre, divertida y llena de vida la hace parecer más joven de lo que es. De hecho, tenemos una broma interna donde decimos que ella es la hija y yo la madre 😅. Es gracioso porque a ella le gusta mucho salir a bailar y yo soy más de quedarme en casa y me da mucha pena bailar en público. Otra cosa es que ella usa ropa corta como vestidos y blusas que dejan ver sus caderas y yo soy más de pantalón y pulovers, hay veces en las que trato de bajarle la blusa para cubrirla un poco y ella me lo impide y nos reímos porque parece que los papeles están invertidos como en la película Un viernes de locos de Jamie Lee Curtis y Lindsey Lohan. Cuando salimos juntas hay personas que nos dicen que parecemos hermanas a modo de cumplido 😊.
When I tell you how old she is, you will surely be amazed, because her cheerful, fun and full of life personality makes her look younger than she is. In fact, we have an inside joke where we say that she is the daughter and I am the mother 😅. It's funny because she really likes to go out dancing and I'm more into staying at home and I'm very embarrassed to dance in public. Another thing is that she wears short clothes like dresses and blouses that show her hips and I'm more of pants and sweaters, there are times when I try to lower her blouse to cover it a little and she stops me and we laugh because it seems that the roles are reversed like in the movie Freaky Friday starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsey Lohan. When we go out together there are people who tell us that we look like sisters as a compliment 😊.
Bueno amigos, no los hago esperar más, mi mamá cumplió 50 años ayer y para celebrarlo la llevamos a comer a una de las mejores pizzerías de la ciudad, Carol y Ale. En total éramos 7 personas: mi mamá, mi hermano con su novia, mi esposo y sus dos hermanas y yo. La pasamos de lo más bien, el lugar es muy bueno, tenía aire acondicionado, un gran televisor con música todo el tiempo y la comida con una calidad exquisita, cremas de queso, espaguetis, pizzas y otras ofertas, todo muy delicioso. Pero lo mejor de todo fue estar todos juntos en familia celebrando un año más de la vida de mi mamá.
Well friends, I won't make you wait any longer, my mom turned 50 yesterday and to celebrate we took her to eat at one of the best pizza shops in the city, Carol and Ale. In total we were 7 people: my mother, my brother with his girlfriend, my husband and his two sisters and me. We had a great time, the place is very good, it had air conditioning, a large TV with music playing all the time and the food was of exquisite quality, cream cheese, spaghetti, pizzas and other offers, all very delicious. But the best of all was being together as a family celebrating another year of my mother's life.
Honestamente, no sabíamos si íbamos a poder salir a festejar el cumpleaños porque mi mamá se sentía muy mal el lunes, debido a una infección provocada por un granito que le salió en la pierna. Esto, a su vez, le provocó una seca, que le dolía mucho y hasta tuve que bañarla en una silla en el baño porque no podía caminar sin sentir dolor, además de tener fiebre de 38 y medio que no se le bajó en todo el día. El estómago también le dolía tanto que lloraba y temblaba del frío que tenía, debido a la fiebre. Ese día me lo pasé a su lado cuidándola como hace ella conmigo cuando estoy enferma y dormí con ella esa noche. Por suerte amaneció mejor el martes, sin fiebre y ya podía caminar mejor, y el doctor le mandó tomar antibióticos.
Honestly, we didn't know if we were going to be able to go out to celebrate the birthday because my mom was feeling really bad on Monday, due to an infection caused by a pimple on her leg. This, in turn, caused her a lump in the groin, which hurt a lot and I even had to bathe her in a chair in the bathroom because she couldn't walk without feeling pain, in addition to having a fever of 38 and a half that didn't go down all day. Her stomach also hurt so much that she was crying and shivering from the cold she had, due to the fever. I spent that day by her side taking care of her like she does with me when I'm sick, and I slept with her that night. Luckily she woke up better on Tuesday, without a fever and could walk better, and the doctor ordered her to take antibiotics.
Me alegro mucho de que ya se sienta mejor y que pudiera disfrutar de su cumpleaños como se merece, con su familia y que cumpla muchos más.
I am very glad that she feels better now and that she could enjoy her birthday as she deserves, with her family and I wish her many more to come.
