Sometimes, being single is the best thing we can do for ourselves. Some relationships are toxic because of the kind of person we are in them with. I am happy that you have regained your freedom. I hope you get a better partner. I am also single by choice, and it's a decision I had to make to protect my mental health and focus on things that matter.
