A few weeks ago, my hair started to feel a bit heavy and lifeless. I had been using protein products for a while and since I don't need them as much, as my hair isn't processed with anything, it started to lack moisture. The first thing I did was to change my conditioner and styling cream for more moisturising products, which I talked about in this post. Although with those products I started to feel a considerable improvement in the state of my hair, it was still not enough, so I started to look for options of moisturizing masks suitable for Curly Girl Method, that's how I found the product that I want to recommend today.

The option I chose was a mask from Pantene, called Pro-V Miracles, which on its packaging promises to moisturise, give movement and shine. There are more products in this line, however, only this one is completely clean, and that was something that caught my attention, finally Pantene starts to have products suitable for the curly method, that's a pleasant surprise, as they are easy to find and have a pretty decent quality for a supermarket product.
Like many masks I've tried lately, this one has three types of use:
- As a mask: apply from mid to ends, on clean, damp hair, leave on for 30 minutes and rinse. This was the reason I bought it, however, it is the way I use it the least. 30 minutes is long enough and as I usually shower at night I find it very difficult to apply it every week. Despite this setback, I have to say that the times I have used it my hair is really soft and shiny, it is definitely worth the time investment. It is ideal for when we have an event or an outing, and we want our hair to look spectacular.
- As a conditioner: apply equally from mid-lengths to ends on clean, damp hair, leave on for a minute and rinse. This is the way I have been using it the most and I must say that it is an excellent conditioner, I started to use it every other day, from the first week I started to notice my hair much more manageable, shiny, even with a more intense colour, as if it had more life. Without a doubt, it was a surprise that it worked so well in this way, I'm even thinking of leaving it as my base conditioner, because I've been really liking the results I get using it this way.
- As a pre-shampoo: apply it all over dry or damp hair before washing to help detangle it and prevent the shampoo from drying it out too much. This form of use was a really good discovery for me, as I have somewhat long hair, it's difficult to detangle it dry, but applying this product as a pre-poo makes the task much easier and has given my hair an extra touch of moisture. Honestly, I do it about 10 minutes before I get in the shower, and it's wonderful, although this can be done with any conditioner, I've never dared to do it before, and I regret it because my hair is so soft.
Without a doubt this product has been a very good discovery for me, it has a thick consistency that makes it easy to apply and a discreet, but very rich scent, which also lasts a long time. So far it has not caused me any unfavourable reactions, so I hope to continue using it. It's quite affordable (4.5 USD) and has lasted me quite a while, even though I use it 4 times a week as a conditioner and pre-poo, so I definitely recommend it if you're looking for an easy-to-find, long-lasting option that gives good results.
Descubriendo la Mascarilla Ideal
Hace unas semanas comencé a sentir mi cabello algo pesado y sin vida. Tenía tiempo usando productos con proteínas y al no necesitarlas tanto, ya que mi cabello no está procesado con nada, empezó a hacerla falta hidratación. Lo primero que hice fue cambiar mi acondicionador y mi crema para peinar por productos más hidratantes, de ellos les hablé en esta publicación. Aunque con esos productos comencé a sentir una mejoría considerable en el estado de mi cabello, aún no era suficiente, por lo que comencé a buscar opciones de mascarillas hidratantes aptas para Método Curly Girl, fue así como encontré el producto que les quiero recomendar el día de hoy.
La opción que escogí fue una mascarilla de la marca Pantene, llamada Pro-V Miracles, la cual en su empaque promete hidratar, dar movimiento y brillo. En esta línea hay más productos, sin embargo, solo este es completamente limpio, y eso fue algo que me llamó la atención, por fin Pantene comienza a tener productos aptos para el método curly, eso es una grata sorpresa, ya que son fáciles de encontrar y tienen una calidad bastante decente para ser productos de supermercado.
Al igual que muchas mascarillas que he probado últimamente, esta tiene tres tipos de uso:
- Como mascarilla: se aplica de medios a puntas, con el cabello limpio y húmedo, se deja actuar durante 30 minutos y se enjuaga. Este fue el motivo por el cual la compré, sin embargo, es la forma en la que menos la uso. 30 minutos es bastante y como yo normalmente me baño en la noche se me hace muy complicado aplicarla cada semana. A pesar de ese contratiempo, debo decir que las veces que la he utilizado mi cabello queda verdaderamente suave y brillante, sin duda vale la inversión de tiempo. Es ideal para cuando tenemos un evento o una salida y queremos que nuestro cabello luzca espectacular.
- Como acondicionador: se aplica igual de medios a puntas en el cabello limpio y húmedo, se deja actuar un minuto y se enjuaga. Esta es la forma en la que más lo he estado empleando y debo decir que es un excelente acondicionador, comencé a utilizarlo un día sí y un no, desde la primera semana comencé a notar mi cabello mucho más manejable, brillante, incluso con un color más intenso, como si tuviera más vida. Sin duda, fue una sorpresa que funcionara tan bien de esta manera, incluso estoy pensando dejarlo como mi acondicionador de base, debido a que me ha estado gustando mucho el resultado que obtengo usándolo de esta forma.
- Como pre-shampoo: se aplica en todo el cabello seco o húmedo antes de lavarlo para ayudar a desenredarlo y evitar que el shampoo le ocasione mucha resequedad. Esta forma de uso fue un descubrimiento muy bueno para mí, como tengo el cabello algo largo, es difícil desenredarlo en seco, pero aplicar este producto como pre-poo hace la tarea mucho más sencilla y le ha brindado un toque de hidratación extra a mi cabello. Honestamente, yo lo hago como 10 minutos antes de meterme a bañar y es una maravilla, aunque esto se puede hacer con cualquier acondicionador, yo nunca me había animado a hacerlo antes y me arrepiento porque el cabello queda muy suave.
Sin duda este producto ha sido un descubrimiento muy bueno para mí, posee una consistencia espesa que facilita su aplicación y un aroma discreto, pero muy rico, que además perdura bastante. Hasta ahora no me ha causado ninguna reacción desfavorable, por lo que espero continuar con su uso. Tiene un precio bastante accesible (4.5 USD) y me ha durado bastante, a pesar de que lo uso 4 veces a la semana como acondicionador y pre-poo, así que sin duda lo recomiendo si están buscando una opción fácil de encontrar, duradera y que brinde buenos resultados.
