Reparación del piso y muro del patio (Esp/Ing)

Una nueva reparación me trae a esta comunidad, en la cual he aprendido algunos trucos para realizar arreglos en el hogar. Compartir la experiencia puede resultar beneficioso para muchos usuarios, pues desconocemos a quienes les pueden servir nuestras ideas y soluciones en diferentes áreas o circunstancias.

A new repair brings me to this community, in which I have learned some tricks for home repairs. Sharing the experience can be beneficial to many users, because we do not know to whom our ideas and solutions can be useful in different areas or circumstances.

En días pasados, mi esposa estaba caminando por el patio interno con la bebé y sintió que el piso de cemento se sentía extraño en una zona. Me llamó para que yo lo confirmara y, efectivamente, al pisar sonaba hueco. El sobrepiso estaba sobre un vacío, busqué un cincel y di un golpe suave y se quebró con facilidad, lo que indicaba que la capa de cemento superior estaba en el aire. Aproveché para arreglar una parte del muro que también ameritaba una reparación.

In the past few days, my wife was walking through the inner courtyard with the baby and felt that the cement floor felt strange in one area. She called me to confirm it and sure enough, when she stepped on it, it sounded hollow. The subfloor was over a void, I reached for a chisel and gave it a gentle tap and it cracked easily, indicating that the top layer of cement was in the air. I took the opportunity to fix a part of the wall that was also in need of repair.

En vista de que el arreglo no era grande, decidí que lo podía resolver de inmediato, así que atendí el asunto a la brevedad, sobre todo, porque representaba un riesgo para la niña, se podría tropezar y caer. Entonces busqué las herramientas necesarias y comencé el trabajo.

Since the repair was not a big one, I decided that I could solve it immediately, so I attended to the matter as soon as possible, especially because it represented a risk for the girl, she could trip and fall. So I looked for the necessary tools and started the job.

Primero rompí hasta descubrir la extensión de vacío, luego rellené con arena y restos de escombros, posteriormente, compacté con un pisón. Una vez finalizado ese paso procedí a preparar mezcla en proporción de 3 medidas de arena por 1 de cemento, se agrega agua hasta alcanzar la consistencia adecuada y lo apliqué hasta cubrir el agujero.

First I broke until I discovered the vacuum extension, then I filled it with sand and debris, and later, I compacted it with a rammer. Once this step was finished, I proceeded to prepare a mixture in the proportion of 3 measures of sand to 1 measure of cement, added water until I reached the right consistency and applied it until the hole was covered.

Para dar con el punto exacto de la mezcla basta con batir, colocar un poco sobre la cuchara y volverla a vertir en el balde, si no se queda una fracción pegada a la cuchara es porque la mezcla está aguada, se debe agregar entonces un puño más de cemento.

To find the exact point of the mixture, just beat it, place a little on the spoon and pour it back into the bucket. If a fraction does not stick to the spoon, it means that the mixture is watery, so add one more handful of cement.

Una vez que esté lista la mezcla se vacía sobre el relleno de manera uniforme, se le agrega cemento en polvo para que no se agriete. Se aplana con una regla y luego se pasa una esponja húmeda sobre la superficie. Se sugiere cubrir con un cartón sobre algunos objetos para que el trabajo no se ensucie o se dañe por huellas de animales o personas.

Once the mixture is ready, it is poured evenly over the backfill and powdered cement is added so that it does not crack. It is flattened with a ruler and then a damp sponge is passed over the surface. It is suggested to cover with cardboard over some objects so that the work does not get dirty or damaged by animal or human footprints.

Después de transcurrir un par de horas se vuelve a pasar la esponja húmeda para evitar las grietas y mejorar el acabado. Al día siguiente, también se debe pasar la esponja, la mezcla debe permanecer con algo de humedad hasta que termine de secar por completo. Allí pueden observar el resultado final.

After a couple of hours, the wet sponge should be wiped again to avoid cracks and improve the finish. The next day, the sponge should also be wiped, the mixture should remain with some humidity until it is completely dry. There you can see the final result.
