Wealth through the generation

The sad thing about the wealthy men of our generation is that their wealth does not endure. No sooner than they are dead then all the wealth would vanish. Their children would fight and sue themselves in court over the sharing of property and possessions. Some cases have been in court for over 25 years. The businesses and companies painstakingly built up soon turned into rubbles.

Some who had gone into great pains to acquire massive property and possessions, with the hope that their generations unborn would not experience the poverty they went through, would be groaning in their graves to see those pipe dreams turned into mirage. No wonder King Solomon, the wisest man and one of the wealthiest who ever lived said in Ecclesiastes that a man amasses wealth but does not know who would inherit it: He termed all these efforts as vanity upon vanity, and that is what they are.

In the cases of Abraham, the wealth was passed down to generations, as God renewed His covenant of Abraham with his children through the chosen lineage: Abraham to Isaac to Jacob and to his twelve sons. God urged Abraham to walk perfectly before Him so that His covenant with Him will be everlasting. Jesus coming through the linage of Abraham made the covenant everlasting.

Your possessions can also be passed down to generations of righteously acquired and used for the purpose for which God gave it to you.

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

Genesis 17:1-8

[1]And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
[2]And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
[3]And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
[4]As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
[5]Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
[6]And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
[7]And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
[8]And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
