Faithfulness and loyalty is essential

Faithfulness is about trustworthiness, doing what you say. There was a time when carrying the Bible and saying you are born again were all one need to get a business opportunities and contracts. If anyone comes to you carrying a big Bible and professing to be born again, be on your guard: Christians should not be known by their walk, not just their talk. Jesus signifies faithfulness with the parable of talents.

Some 25 years ago and beyond, it was taboo to be working for someone, be it government or companies, and be running a business on the side. This was the concept of loyalty to the employer: getting to work before resumption time to do your devotion and get ready for the day's work; and completing the urgent job on hand before leaving for home even after the official hours were over.
You may quip that things were easy in those days but I can assure you that things have always been tough in this world.
The temptation to cut corners and run some parallel business was always there and even at that time, some fell for it.

Let Jeremiah 17:11 be your guide:

"Like a bird that fills her nest with young she has not hatched and which will soon desert her and fly away, so is the man who gets his wealth by unjust means. Sooner or later he will lose his riches and at the end of his life become a poor old fool."(Living Bible)

Whatever others may be doing, choose faithfulness and loyalty as your guiding principles.

A faithful man shall abound with blessings, but he that maketh haste to the rich shall not be innocent.
