Tabogon Roosevelt High School Class of 2010 - Reunion: A blast from the past.

The long wait is finally over.

August 17, 2023 - Our class adviser were looking for us Class of 2010 students. Asking when will be our first ever reunion. Our class adviser told one of our classmates that if we need to gather her home was always available for the meeting. Then it was all decided that the meeting will be on August 27, 2023.

August 27, 2023 - Some of our classmates gathered into our house to start the meeting for our reunion. Regarding the dates, the food, the venue and the likes. Present during the gathering was Justine, Ruth Ann, Johanne, Irish, Christina, Everly, Kathyrine and also me @restlessadvntr. I personally prepared food for them. I cooked balbacua (Cebuano or Filipino term) or barbacoa (Spanish term). My mother also cooked stir-fried noodles and sticky rice with muscovado sugar. After all the eating, laughing, talking about life and the reunion. We all decided to have a sinking fund to lessen the expenses of our classmates. Also, e humbly asked our other classmates who are working abroad to pledge something needed for the reunion.

On the following days we the one who gathered at our house decided that we will be the organizer of the said event to ensure that it will really happen. Because this reunion was 10 years in the making. Many days after we organizers did a virtual meeting to decide for the food, the main dishes and the side dishes. We also computed our money that we collected and amazingly it's bigger than we thought it could be. So we decided to buy whole roasted pig.

December 1, 2023 - I was waiting for my other classmates to come home because they said they will be helping me doing all the cooking. Lots of task to do that time like making hanging rice, lumpia and many others. They said they'll be there by 3 in the afternoon but none of them where there when I got home. How sad. I was at home around 5 PM I started making puso or hanging rice for tomorrow’s event. I even prepared the mixture for lumpia, if they arrived they will do the wrappings of it. My cousin Everly arrived early so she did wrappings of lumpia. Then hours after others arrived and help me already with other things. We had a little good time when others arrived because Samia bought already one case of Beer for as to celebrate the time we're together. Bonding while doing our tasks for the event the next day.

December 2, 2023 - The day has come to reality. The first reunion of our batch after 10 long years, do come true with the efforts of all our classmates who pledges cash and in kind. @jobeliever lend us their truck 🛻 for our transportation to the venue. All were excited, I can see through their faces the beauty and smiles that we never saw for a long time.

When we arrived at the venue and all of our classmates are happy talking about our high school days those crushes, those cutting classes and those adventures we all had during high school.

The event was just so simple. We had our foods and videoke to enjoy the moment.

Just so sad that others wasn't able to attend the reunion.

The next time I'll encourage them to attend. So the batch will be completed.

10 reasons to attend high school reunion.

Why we really need to attend reunion or high school reunions? Facebook was a great application to keep in touch with your other classmates.

Here are some reasons to attend reunions that discredit your tired excuses.

  1. It was like a prom but a better version of it. Because you can experience the fun of adult beverages.

  2. Show and Tell. But do not exaggerate things. You can ask your old friend what his or her been up to all those years.

  3. Network. It can develop valuable resources, re-discover classmates who've learned a thing in different profession that can be added to our future business lists.

  4. Be 18 again for a night. Let's go back to being 18 for a night. Just forget all the responsibilities of being an adult.

  5. Who had a crush on who? The most talked about, the controversies. 😂

  6. Face-to-Facebook. Facebook tells us just a portion of what’s really happening on others’ lives. So, better be talking face to face to see what’s really happening.

  7. Relive the good times. It was so funny thinking that we all had our joke time with our teachers, those teachings that was way off that stuck on our minds. My classmates know who what I mean because they keep on copying the expression of that teacher.

  8. What happened to? Like you can ask all you want to what happen to that person or your classmates.

  9. People Change. Some of our classmates those days were very funny and now they really changed a lot.

  10. You never know if you will make it to the next reunion. Only time can tell and hopefully the next time around all must be present.

🎊Cheers 🍻 to the Tabogon Roosevelt High School Class of 2010!🎉
We're not old; we're just well-seasoned, like a fine wine that gets better with time.
