Christmas is, without a doubt, one of the most anticipated holidays of the year. It holds a special place in our hearts and is a time when families and friends come together to celebrate. I was fortunate enough to take a week off from work this year to spend Christmas with my loved ones in our province. It was a memorable experience, and I cherish the time spent with my family. The joy and warmth that come with the holiday season make it truly unique and unforgettable.
I spent this Christmas with my family in our province, taking a few days off from work to be with them. We had a blast participating in many fun activities together.
During Christmas, it's not about the grandness or prestige of your celebration that matters, but rather being with the people you love and who are closest to you. The season is all about love, so it's important to show it to those around you.
We enjoyed a heartwarming Christmas Eve dinner filled with our favorite Filipino dishes and fruits. Being surrounded by our favorite people made the occasion even more special. Here are some of the highlights from our delicious meal.
WATERMELON
FRUIT SALAD
SLICED BREAD
LIQUORS
BUTTERED GARLIC SHRIMPS
PORK HUMBA
MANGO FLOAT
FRIED PORK RIBS
SPAGHETTI
We indulged in some of our favorite Filipino dishes, which left us feeling both full and content. Although our celebration may not have been as extravagant as others, it held great significance to me, as it provided an opportunity to celebrate with loved ones.
Other than our Christmas Eve dinner with the entire family, which is my favorite Christmas celebration highlight, another highlight of my Christmas 2023 celebration is being united with my uncles and other cousins. We went to @iamgagz09 ’s house to have some karaoke. Everyone was drunk and had a fair share of songs sung. Karaoke is always a fun idea.
It's not often that we working adults get to reunite and celebrate together due to our busy schedules, so I was thrilled to spend Christmas with my favorite cousins and uncles singing karaoke and having a blast. It's always enjoyable to let loose with family and sing your heart out, especially during the holiday season. My family tends to be more of a liquor and alcohol-loving bunch, so it's not uncommon for everyone to get a bit tipsy on special occasions. Despite the potential downsides, it's a happy occasion to indulge and enjoy each other's company.
And during night time, we went out with my cousins to Don Gregorio Antigua, Borbon, Northern Cebu City, Philippines because our cousin’s family hosted a Christmas disco.
We had a blast last night dancing at the disco with our cousins and friends. The best part was that it was a charity event, raising funds for the fire victims of Pusok, Lapu-lapu City, Philippines. It was heartwarming to see everyone having fun while also supporting a good cause. The fact that it was on Christmas made it even more special, with so many people in attendance and donating generously. Overall, it was a fantastic idea that brought joy and hope to all.
Other than the fun I had with my family, I was also invited to celebrate my friend's birthday on December 25th. Not only does she celebrate Christmas, but also, celebrates her birthday, and since she's very dear to me, I happily joined in on the celebration in her humble abode in Medellin.
I had a wonderful Christmas this year with plenty of enjoyable activities and parties to attend. The Hive Cebu Christmas Party on December 26th was definitely a highlight, and I even wrote about it on a separate blog.
In these unpredictable times, it's crucial to cherish the moments we have with our loved ones. Spending time with family and friends is more important than ever, as we never know what the future holds. As the holiday season approaches, let's make a conscious effort to prioritize time with the people who matter most. Whether it's a small gathering or a virtual celebration, let's make the most of the time we have together.
We must not forget the value of Christmas - spreading love and joy to everyone. The world is cruel, a little kindness won’t hurt!
Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays! Ciao! ☺︎♡
