Blessed Sunday: Attending Mass at Birhen sa Regla with Family

Hello everyone! @digdeeper2 is here again for another blog content. Remember when I have posted about the successful journey of my sister being a licensed professional teacher? And she promised that since she passed the licensure exam, she will be going back to different churches once she will make it to the passing. Now, she is taking steps to fulfill each of her promises. Today, in this blog, we went to church together as a family in Birhen sa Regla at Opon to attend the Sunday Mass.

We planned it ahead of time, and luckily it is a long weekend ahead, so it's perfect timing. The family decided to visit that Sunday morning of April 7,2024. Since we have to commute there, and we have to attend the 10 am mass, everyone wakes up earlier than the normal waking up time. Taking a batch, prepare all the things, have breakfast and go. We leave the house at 8:40 am.

How do we get there?
From the house, we had to take a jeepney going to the Downtown Colon and from there we transferred to another bus going to SM or a jeepney passing Pier 3. From Pier 3, we took a ferry boat taking us to the church.

Since it was Sunday, the road was not so much traffic, we were able to take rides that quickly. We managed to arrive at Pier 3 Port at exactly 9:20 am. We paid for our tickets and secured our seats on the ferry boat. The ferry boat has enough passengers already when we enter, enough for it to start traveling.

Without delays, we traveled. My niece was very happy as it was her first time riding a ferry boat. She was very amazed at the same time, scared to fall off, but I literally held her so tight not to fall off. She keeps on pointing, telling me "Look, there's a boat" as we happened to come across another ferry boat taking the truth back to the port. I can see the innocence, the excitement and fear through my niece's eyes.

Perfectly, when we arrived, it was nearly 10 am. We are not late for the 10 am mass. We go down directly, and it is so perfect that the church is just so close to the sea that when you go down to the ferry boat, the church is there already. We went there directly and began finding seats so as not to deny there were huge crowds attending the mass that time.

Before the mass started, my niece was enjoying herself playing with the other kids that were roaming around our seats. She is so friendly that she will just approach other kids, and she will wave to them saying "hi baby" (that's what she always calls every little kid at her age). Then the mass began after a minutes (I was not able to take pictures while mass was going on).

The mass ended around 11 A.M. Before going back, we went upstairs to halok or give kisses to the image of the Birhen sa Regla. We kneeled on our knees and offered prayers.

Outside the church we came across these stalls. You can buy different religious souvenirs here. There are also food stalls. The park nearby is so tempting, but we didn't go there, since we didn't have time. Maybe soon we will come back.

After that, we headed to the port, going back as it was close enough for lunchtime. There is a change of plans happening. The initial plan is that we will bring food or lunch with us just in case we stay there longer. But later we decided to just take our lunch at Mcdo, a fast food restaurant.

From the port, we rode a jeepney taking us to Emall, and we went directly to Mcdo inside the mall. My sister was the one who ordered our food. While we are finding a place to sit in. We were sitted to calm down as it's very tiring from the hot weather outside. It is super hot, its making me weak and giving me headaches.

When the food has arrived, we eat together since we are so hungry already that time (forget to take pictures together). After we ate, we decided to go home as we had no other plans.

Such an amazing and blessed Sunday for our family. We had a great time together. I will treasure moments like this and look forward to more adventures and time together with me. Thank you everyone for always finding time to read and supporting me. Always drink water, especially during this hot season. Stay hydrated and God bless each one of us.😇❤
