Tal como dice el refrán popular "al mejor cazador se le va la liebre"; pues si, en esta publicación les compartiré una crónica anunciada de estafa, que no llegó a su punto máximo por un simple detalle.
El Phishing es una estrategia de engaño que utilizan personas maliciosas para "estafar", escogen a sus presas, planifican sus pasos y lanzan su carnada para que otro pueda quedar sin dinero, sin cuentas o sin información valiosa; lo más común es que busquen dinero fácil y rápido.
¿Cómo se produjo el acontecimiento que motiva esta publicación?
Una de mis amigas tiene una de sus niñas artista y muy creativa, ella realiza obras de pintura acrílica sobre cortes de madera rústico, de verdad que le quedan hermosas las obras, pero la niña sólo tiene 16 años todavía, así que sus ventas se han limitado a los familiares y amigos.
Hace poco colocó una obra en instagram, e inmediatamente fue abordada por un usuario con muchos seguidores y seguidos (parecía normal), le colocó me gusta a su obra y le preguntó si le podía elaborar algo específico, la nena dudó pero le respondió que sí. Todo esto era una conversación que traducía para entender.

How did the event that motivates this publication happen?
One of my friends has one of her children who is an artist and very creative, she makes acrylic paintings on rustic wood cuts, the works are really beautiful, but the girl is only 16 years old yet, so her sales have been limited to family and friends.
Recently she posted a work on instagram, and was immediately approached by a user with many followers and followers (it seemed normal), he liked her work and asked if he could elaborate something specific, the girl hesitated but said yes. All this was a conversation that she translated to understand.
La persona le ofreció 300$ por PayPal, ella pensó que era su día de suerte y aceptó, pero no tenían este método de pago, acá es donde participo como "afectada" en los hechos. Mi amiga me escribe, le digo que ok, le paso mi correo y le preguntan que a nombre de quien está, mmm (primera falla) le di mi nombre; inmediatamente recibí un correo anunciando que tenía un depósito por 300$, yo entre la cocina y mis cosas, solo le dije, espera este correo es extraño, dice que mi cuenta no puede recibirlos hasta que sean 500$. (En el momento era la experta y la liebre se me escapaba).
Acto seguido, llega un segundo correo dudoso notificando que habían transferido los 200$ que solicitaba PayPal pero que debían regresarlo inmediatamente (podía ser incluso por otra vía que no fuese PayPal, ya acá el chiste se contaba sólo).
Ante todas las dudas, fui al computador y verifiqué los correos y mi cuenta obviamente:
Los correos eran enviado de un invento de dirección con extensión gmail que no correspondía a la empresa.
Sin el logo oficial de PayPal para reconocer su perfil.
Estaban como sobre escritos.
Dirigidos a mi, tal cual suministre sólo mi nombre y apellido.
Mi conclusión era que totalmente era falso todo aquello, pero mi amiga casi le hacía un pago zelle a los estafadores, a tiempo hablamos y le dije que para su tranquilidad escribiría a PayPal. Las personas mal habidas a todas estas le escribían que necesitaban "urgente" los 200$ de vuelta.

Faced with all the doubts, I went to the computer and verified the emails and my account obviously:
The emails were sent from an invented address with a gmail extension that did not correspond to the company.
Without the official PayPal logo to recognize their profile.
They were as if they were overwritten.
Addressed to me, as I provided only my name and surname.
My conclusion was that all this was totally false, but my friend almost made a zelle payment to the scammers, in time we talked and I told her that for her peace of mind I would write to PayPal. The people with bad money were writing to all of them that they needed "urgently" the 200$ back.
Obviamente mi consejo fue escribirles unas cuantas cosas que no puedo expresar acá, pero dejándole claro que eran estafadores totalmente. A estos últimos mensajes cesaron de escribir y así "casi como una estafa" quedó este suceso, la crónica de un evento que casi se me escapaba de las manos.
No debemos prestar nuestras cuentas a terceros, así creamos que hacemos bien, supongamos que esto hubiese sucedido, estaría hoy llorando con mi amiga. Pero bueno, no pasó a más y comparto el suceso por acá. También pienso en niñas como Valeria (la hija de mi amiga) o mi hija Haniel que podrían encontrarse con personas intentando estafarlas y haciéndolas sentir mal.
Ojalá existieran más que denunciar, bloquear y estar atentos. Pero por los momentos son los tres pasos tecnológicos de mayor seguridad si pasa algo así. Hay otras formas como filtrar los spam, los correos no seguros y configurar algunos niveles en la red; pero nada supera a ser precavido siempre.
