Panini Collectors, can you improve the album experience with this app?

Recently I decided to start filling out the Panini sticker album with my brother corresponding to the world cup of Qatar Football 2022, a task that I would not classify as easy, but that at the same time gives us a lot of entertainment as well as a kind of escapism for those problems and responsibilities of our day to day.

Being honest with you these days I have been quite obsessed with this topic, in fact, my last post in this community was a brief review about the Panini Sticker Album app, an app that allows us to fill this same album for free, get envelopes with special codes and exchange stickers with our friends forming teams without having to spend a penny.

In the midst of World Cup fever (somewhat ironic considering I don't have much of an interest in the sport) I've spent the last few days delving into the community surrounding these collectibles, keeping in constant contact with others who share my passion for this hobby. , as well as trying to find tools and strategies that help us facilitate the titanic task of getting the almost 650 stickers that make up the album.

This is how I came across Panini Collectors, an app for Android and iOS that is used to keep an online record of all the stickers we get, regardless of whether they are repeated or not. What is its purpose? In short: it is responsible for giving us immediate access to an organized version of our collection, allowing us to dispense with the physical album in case we want to exchange cards with another person and we are not sure what pieces we have available.

Of course, it is perfectly understandable that for many this app does not sound like the most useful in the world, and it is totally true, its functionality is extremely limited and the design of the app is not intuitive enough to make using it a pleasant experience, we must install the data of each album separately (There are others available apart from Qatar 2022) and although it has very interesting functions such as a sticker scan and some minigames, they require a very good quality internet connection to work decently.

Personally, I would have liked Panini to find a middle ground between this app and the digital album, the latter is much better designed and knows how to bring to the screens of our cell phones the social experience that completing an album entails, I understand that both continue very different purposes but in the case of Panini Collectors I use it on a recurring basis more out of necessity than for genuine convenience.

I'm not saying that it's an objectively bad app, it has a clear objective and is responsible for fulfilling it, but those who prefer to use an excel sheet or simply keep everything written down in a notebook will find themselves in a much more intuitive situation.

As a kind of off topic, I have been buying a couple of envelopes daily and I am quite satisfied with my progress, the repeated decks have been scarce and I have released other very "priced" ones. Recientemente decidí comenzar a llenar junto a mi hermano el álbum de stickers de Panini correspondiente a la copia mundial de Fútbol Qatar 2022, una tarea que no catalogaría como sencilla, pero que al mismo tiempo nos otorga muchísimo entretenimiento así como una suerte de escapismo a los problemas y las responsabilidades de nuestro día a día.

Siendo honesto con ustedes estos días he estado bastante obsesionado con ese tema, de hecho, mi último post en esta comunidad fue una breve reseña sobre la app de Panini Sticker Álbum, una app que nos permite llenar este mismo álbum de forma gratuita, conseguir sobres con códigos especiales e intercambiar stickers con nuestros amigos formando equipos sin tener que gastar ni un centavo.

En medio de la fiebre mundialista (Algo irónico considerando que no siento mucho interés por el deporte) he pasado los últimos días ahondando en la comunidad que rodea a estas piezas de coleccionismo, manteniendo un contacto constante con otras personas que comparten mi pasión por este hobby, así como tratando de buscar herramientas y estrategias que nos ayuden a facilitar la titánica tarea de conseguir los casi 650 stickers que conforman el álbum.

De esta forma me encontré con Panini Collectors, una app para Android y iOS que sirve para mantener un registro en línea de todos los stickers que conseguimos, independientemente de que sean repetidos o no, ¿Cuál es su finalidad? En resumen: se encarga de brindarnos un acceso inmediato a una versión organizada de nuestra colección, permitiendonos prescindir del álbum físico en caso de querramos intercambiar cromos con otra persona y no tengamos claro con que piezas contamos disponibles.

Por supuesto, es perfectamente entendible que para muchos está app no suene como la más útil del mundo, y es totalmente cierto, su funcionalidad es extremadamente limitada y el diseño de la app no es lo suficientemente intuitivo como para que usarla sea una experiencia grata, debemos instalar la data de cada álbum por separada (Existen otros disponibles aparte de Qatar 2022) y aunque cuenta con funciones muy interesantes como un escaneo de stickers y algunos minijuegos, requieren una conexión a internet de muy buena calidad para funcionar decentemente.

En lo personal, me hubiese gustado que Panini encontrara un punto medio entre esta app y el álbum digital, este último se encuentra mucho mejor diseñado y sabe llevar a las pantallas de nuestros celulares la experiencia social que conlleva completar un álbum, entiendo que ambas siguen propósitos muy distintos pero en el caso de Panini Collectors la utilizo de forma recurrente más por necesidad que por genuina conveniencia.

No estoy diciendo que sea una app objetivamente mala, cuenta con un objetivo claro y se encarga de cumplirlo, pero aquellos que prefieran usar una hoja de excel o simplemente mantener todo anotado en un cuaderno se encontrarán en una situación mucho más intuitiva.

Como una especie de off topic, he estado comprando un par de sobres diariamente y me siento bastante satisfecho con mis avances, las barajitas repetidas han sido escasas y he sacado otras muy "cotizadas".
