No obstante, convivo con ciertos traidores que abandonaron el barco y huyeron al Team Android. En esa cobarde huida, confundidos y atormentados, se fueron por distintos caminos: Samsung, Amazon, y... Xiaomi. En este último, cayó Sophi, la pobrecita desde hace dos o tres años pertenece a esa perniciosa secta china que embelese a sus seguidores 😂🤣
Bueno, bueno, poniéndole seriedad a la cosa, les cuento que mi Sophi es defensora de Xiaomi. Ella usa un Poco X3 Pro, teléfono que vanagloria, lo ama. Fiel a la marca, hace como año y medio venía usando como reloj un Mi Smart Band 5. No podrían ni imaginar todos los halagos que le confiere esa niña a ese reloj, tuvo hasta la osadía de pretender compararlo con mi Apple Watch 7… dominio total. Viendo tanta emoción de su parte, en algún momento consideré cambiárselo a la Mi Smart Band 6, pero luego fue el anuncio de la Smart Band 7, y decidí esperar.

Well, well, being serious about it, I tell you that my Sophi is a Xiaomi advocate. She uses a Poco X3 Pro, a phone that she boasts, she loves it. Loyal to the brand, she has been using a Mi Smart Band 5 as a watch for about a year and a half. You couldn't even imagine all the compliments that girl bestowed on that smartwatch, she even had the audacity to pretend to compare it with my Apple Watch 7... total domination. Seeing so much excitement on her part, at one point I considered replacing it with the Mi Smart Band 6, but then it was the announcement of the Smart Band 7, and I decided to wait.
Hace algunos días ella terminó con éxitos sus estudios académicos, me dio la satisfacción de ver su nombre en el cuadro de honor de su colegio con un promedio académico de 19.14, algo que como madre me llena de inmenso orgullo. Ya yo le había prometido, como cada año, que si sus calificaciones eran así de hermosas, mamá le daría un premio a la excelencia.
Inicialmente, le propuse cambiarle el celular, a lo que respondió con un rotundo: No, yo me quedo con mi celular. Luego le pregunté: ¿qué te gustaría? para serles honesta, no exigió nada, nunca lo hace, es súper humilde en ese sentido, acepta lo que le den, desde muy pequeña ha entendido que a veces se puede y otras veces no. Sin embargo, aunque no lo pidió, era evidente que deseaba la Xiaomi Smart Band 7, pues a menudo me comentaba con evidente emoción acerca de las bondades de la nueva banda.
Casi puedo escucharla decir: mamá, la Smart Band 7 tiene ahora nuevo diseño con una pantalla más grande, más niveles de brillo, pantalla AMOLED, se puede activar el “always on display”. También se puede medir el oxígeno en sangre. Agregaron nuevos modos de entrenamiento deportivos, son más de 100 (ella solo maneja bicicleta). Igual se pueden personalizar las esferas, una chulada. Mejoraron el monitoreo de las fases del sueño, frecuencia cardíaca, calorías, pasos, etc. Es resistente al agua, el reloj se puede sumergir hasta 50 metros de profundidad (¿quién se sumerge a tal profundidad?). Ahhhh, y mide los niveles de estrés (¿qué estrés puede sentir alguien a los 13 años?...en fin, toda una maravilla el mentado smartwatch.

You can also measure blood oxygen. They added new sports training modes, there are more than 100 (she only rides a bike). You can also customize the watch faces, very cool. They improved the monitoring of sleep phases, heart rate, calories, steps, etc. It is water resistant, the watch can be submerged up to 50 meters deep (who dives that deep?). Ahhhh, and it monitors stress levels (what stress can someone feel at the age of 13?)...in short, the smartwatch is a marvel.
Recurrentemente mencionaba que seguramente la Smart Band 7 no llegaría a Venezuela sino hasta finales de año, así que supongo que sería un posible deseo en la carta para Santa Claus, después de todo fue Él quien le trajo la Mi Band 5. A diferencia de lo que ella pensaba, yo si creía que llegaría a mediados de año al país, pero la estuve buscando sin éxito, ni si siquiera en Amazon la conseguí.
La semana pasada precisamente comentaba esto con @soy-laloreto, que de haber conseguido la nueva banda, ese habría sido un buen regalo para Sophi. En ese momento @josecarrerag nos dio la buena nueva, comentó que si, que ya la habían traído a Venezuela, y nos compartió un post de Instagram donde la estaban ofertando por $62. Ya yo seguía esa cuenta, es muy famosa en el país, pero la verdad como reviso poco esa red social no me topé con el anuncio que para ese momento tenía 3 días de antigüedad. De inmediato los contacté, fueron súper amables, muy atentos, me permitieron hacer un pago combinado entre PayPal y Binance, y esa misma tarde ya la compra estaba completada.

I was already following that account, it is very famous in the country, but the truth is that as I check that social network very little I did not come across the announcement that by that time was 3 days old. I immediately contacted them, they were super friendly, very attentive, they allowed me to make a combined payment between PayPal and Binance, and that same afternoon the purchase was completed.
► La sorpresa / The surprise
El paquete tardó un par de días en llegar a mi ciudad (sin costo adicional de envío). Les confieso que estaba súper ansiosa, moría por ver la cara de sorpresa de Sophi, ella ni remotamente se imaginaba que recibiría este regalo. Ese día, su papá le pidió el reloj viejo, le dijo que le compraríamos una correa nueva, que ese sería su regalo, y ella supe emocionada…cuando le devolvió el reloj a sus manos, ya no era la Mi Smart Band 5, era la Xiaomi Smart Band 7, el reloj que ella tanto había deseado. Ver su reacción fue hermoso, incluso conmovedor, porque nos dijo que no era necesario, que ella sabía los gastos médicos que teníamos ahorita…un sol mi niña.
Bueno, la verdad, no sé quién estaba más emocionado, si nosotros por ver su cara de sorpresa, ella por recibirla, o Samu por saber que heredaría de inmediato el viejo reloj de Sophi…todo fue un auténtico ganar - ganar.

That day, her dad asked her for the old watch, he told her that we would buy her a new strap, that this would be her gift, and she was thrilled...when she returned the watch to his hands, it was no longer the Mi Smart Band 5, it was the Xiaomi Smart Band 7, the watch she had wanted so much. Seeing her reaction was beautiful, even touching, because she told us that it was not necessary, that she knew the medical expenses we had right now...a sunshine my little girl.
Well, to tell you the truth, I don't know who was more excited, if it was us for seeing her surprised face, her for receiving it, or Samu for knowing that he would immediately inherit Sophi's old watch... it was a real win-win situation.
► Unboxing
Para poder llevar a cabo la sorpresa según lo planeado, el unboxing lo hice en el carro antes de llegar a casa. La Xiaomi Smart Band 7 viene en su clásica cajita negra con relieve. En el interior, en el apartado central, nos encontramos el reloj (modelo M2129B1) envuelto una bolsita, ya con su correa de color negro. En la parte superior, el cable de carga magnética, y en la parte de abajo, el librito de la verdad, el bendito manual, que por cierto está traducido en varios idiomas, incluyendo español.
La sincronización inicial está sugerida para hacerla con la app oficial de Xiaomi, Mi Fitness, aunque funciona igual de bien con la app Zepp Life, que es mucho más completa en funciones y análisis de datos. En la opinión de Sophi, basta con vincular el smartwatch a la app, y de inmediato lo reconoce para poder sacarle el máximo provecho. Cabe mencionar que la Smart Band 7 es compatible con sistemas operativos Android y iOS.

The initial synchronization is suggested to be done with the official Xiaomi app, Mi Fitness, although it works just as well with the Zepp Life app, which is much more complete in functions and data analysis. In Sophi's opinion, it is enough to link the smartwatch to the app, and it immediately recognizes it to get the most out of it. It is worth mentioning that the Smart Band 7 is compatible with Android and iOS operating systems.
A día de hoy, Sophi lleva 5 días utilizando su nuevo juguete y la batería sigue conservando su autonomía. Hemos comparado datos como la frecuencia cardíaca y la oxigenación de la sangre con equipos especializados, evidenciando una impresionante aproximación en los resultados, la variación es mínima.
Ella, feliz con su nueva banda inteligente... yo, feliz de verla feliz. Estuve analizando de un vistazo el antes y el después de ambas bandas (Mi Smart Band 5 vs. Xiaomi Smart Band 7), y efectivamente las mejoras son notables. Quizás pronto les comparta una comparativa entre ambas.

Para finalizar, quiero dejar evidencia ante el frenético #TeamXiaomi que tanto me acosa jajaja (@marcoquin, @ @eliudgnzlz), que si bien yo estoy casada con Apple, súper complacida con mi Apple Watch 7, no puedo dejar de reconocer que la Mi Band Smart 7 de Xiaomi, es una de las mejores bandas deportivas en el mercado en su relación precio - calidad. Recomendada.
