Meta (Facebook) in a paper they released a few days ago. It can, with new methods, read the mind. They still used a robust device that can somewhat imperfectly create a mental image of what the person was looking at.
This is surprising because others have already reconstructed the song they were listening to with different technology. The AI was able to decipher, and if you listen to the audio, it's the same. A person from India even created a headband that seems to be able to read the brain with infrared light. People are already on edge because there's no law protecting our image and thoughts. What seems practical with this is creating devices that you can control with your mind. We'll see if using the mind is not more exhausting than using fingers.
But imagine writing a story with your mind, or changing channels, or requesting a song, or paying the lights, or talking to another person with your mind. The possibilities are endless, and they're already here. The future is hitting us like a speeding truck. Let's not even talk about the AIs that claim to be creating the most powerful AI with billions of dollars so that it becomes the fastest and most effective. Training is in process, and everyone wants to win the market that ChatGPT has successfully consolidated.
They want to be the first. That's why companies like Netflix are already paying fortunes for AI programmers for movies, as videos can now be created with AI. Everything we know may change very soon, as we are educated by social networks, and fake videos will create a new religion of believers in the false.
