Exploring the ramparts we'll have to face more enemies and move several puzzles in order to get to the walkway above and enter the city. While exploring, there's the introduction of another type of enemy, the possessed. These are normal enemies that are as they name suggests possessed by a wraith.
They grow these red crystals that indicating we need to use the red field of our shade, Lute, in order to damage them. But also, the enemies do not fall until we defeat the Wraith. So we have to knock them out to get the ghost out of their body. So we are basically exorcising them by beating their bodies to defeat the evil spirit who gets inside them.
After our reunion with Layton, we advance to the exit of this ascent. Here, we find another Chimera. This is the strongest one alive, Sir Donovan, The Shadeless. The name of this chimera is derived from his prowess to fight without the help of his shade. So he only relies on his prowess as a knight. Of course, the process of becoming a Chimera must have granted him some extra power.
We'll defeat some enemies together until we have a conversation. He's here to help dig out the mystery of the tear in the sky. However, as we see at the end cut scene, he is also affected by the same energy that got us in trouble at the beginning of the game.
I wonder what's that about.
