A feast on the Platanus tree

Hello feathered friends,

These areas typically get goldfinches at the start of the year. They are just passing through during the winter as they travel to the southern regions. Nearly every day, you may find them in tiny groups on big trees like this plane tree. They begin by timidly visiting trees outside and on the periphery of populated areas, and eventually, they begin to do so in the central areas. They apparently eat the seeds from ripe plane tree fruits, which is something I was unaware of until recently.

A group of these birds occupied several plane trees.

They very skillfully separate the seeds from the ripe fruit.

For a few minutes they ignored my presence before taking off nearby. In order to avoid further interfering with their meal, I left after a short while.
