The Cuban Parrot: coloring our fields and cities.

Hello greetings, happy to be here again and to share our passion for birds, this time I present to you the Cuban Parrot, the most beautiful thing we have in Cuba. For many years it was hunted for captivity due to its ability to imitate the human voice, to that we add the destruction of its habitat with terrible consequences, where there was a large population, today there are only a few specimens left and it continues to decrease.

These species mate for life and it is a delight to observe them in large flocks in the forests, although there are fewer and fewer of them. There is a ray of hope and that is that in the city of Havana since recently they are reproducing and currently can be seen in several parks in the capital, let's hope they thrive for the good of all and continue to give color to our fields and cities.

I found this when I was walking through the streets of Havana, nice to see it up close, although I would have preferred to see it in freedom.

All photographs are my own and were taken with a Nikon D200 camera.
