Recently I was taking a walk around Laguna de las Ilusiones, and I was able to observe a bird that although it had duck feet its beak was very different, Honestly, in the lagoon, I had only seen small birds, gray and white herons and some lizards, but never this type of bird.
According to Wikipedia, this is a type of duck-crow, a species of seabird that extends from the United States to South America. In some countries like Chile, it is considered a pest species since they nest in trees and dry them with the acid of their feces, so any way to eliminate them is authorized.
Sometimes these measures are somewhat ironic since there are other species more harmful to the planet ( us ) and we want to eliminate those that do the least damage!
Hace poco estuve dando una caminata por los alrededores de La Laguna de las Ilusiones, y pude observar un ave que aunque tenía patas de pato su pico era muy diferente, honestamente en la laguna, solo había visto aves pequeñas, garzas grises y blancas y algunos lagartos, pero nunca este tipo de ave.
Según Wikipedia, este es un tipo de pato-cuervo, una especie de ave marina que se extiende desde Estados Unidos hasta Sudamerica. En unos países como en Chile es considerada una especie plaga, ya que anidan en los árboles y los secan con el ácido de sus heces, por lo que es autorizada cualquier forma de eliminarlos.
A veces estas medidas son algo irónicas ya que existen otras especies más dañinas para el planeta ( nosotros ) y queremos eliminar a las que menos daño hacen!
