🇺🇸 Hello dear hivers lovers of #FeatheredFriends. After a long time without participating in this amazing contest, I'm back to share my photos with the community.
Pigeons are such common and beloved birds in the popular imagination that I dare to say that they are one of the most famous birds. From the annunciation of Jesus, when the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove flies over the Virgin Mary to notify her of the birth of Christ, passing through the carrier pigeons or the well-known and super-represented dove of peace.
Reading a bit about the origin of this bird I discovered super interesting things, like that the Egyptians and Babylonians were the first to breed them followed by the Greeks and the Romans. The latter developed breeding to complement agriculture, as food and for religious purposes. And that in the Middle Ages raising pigeons was something that only the nobility could do.
Man domesticated it thousands of years ago, it has been used for consumption and has been used as pets. There are several breeds with different sizes, shapes or colors.
Capture the photos of a group of pigeons in the city of Pampatar, in a busy street where there are some fast food outlets. They were eating very quietly and I was able to get close enough to photograph them with my cell phone. I edited the images in black and white just for a personal aesthetic decision, I hope you like it.
Thank you for joining me, visiting my blog, reading and supporting me. Have a wonderful day full of good energy!
