Great Grey Shrike sitting on a tree

On one of my trips to Lower Austria I found this Great Grey Shrike sitting on a branch of a tree hunting the grasslands there. Usually I only find the red baked shrike there that is much more common in lower Austria but this time I could take some pictures of the great grey shrike. I am happy that I already found so many different species of birds there and it is always an adventure to find another bird that hasn't been on my list yet. But it is getting harder and harder to find some of the birds that are possible to find but are very seldom here.

I dream of visiting Africa or even better South America for some bird photography, because in this way I could find so many birds that are impossible to see here in Europe.
