Welcome to #SMaP Show Me A Photo Contest Round 149, the theme being 'bird and twigs'. I think it is a brilliant theme as it gives you the opportunity to use photos that didn't quite turn out how you wanted them to. I tried to take a photo of a blackbird but got so frustrated with the twigs getting in the way. I only saved this photo because I like the red in the background. Yes, I'm easily pleased.
The starling is quite common in the UK, but I still think it's a beautiful bird with its unique colouring. There are just lots of them about. Sometimes, I think twigs can actually add to the photo.
The chaffinch, another one of our commonest birds, is usually found in woodlands, parks, and gardens, especially around the picnic tables.
And the lovely tufted ducks on the pond behind the twig!
Thank you to @nelinoeva and the #featheredfriends team for running the contest.
