Yes, when bigger birds walk around they look a lot like dinosaurs. And that long neck is also dinosaur-like. The way they move around and watch their surroundings can be seen in CGI dinosaurs that walk on two legs. In movies and documentary reconstructions. The authors probably took birds as a model in many cases. Which makes sense. The evolutionary line from those theropods to the birds is pretty clear.
It's great to be able to see herons from time to time.
