When my boy was born

Greetings,

Dear friends, it is good to be in these spaces again and as the theme of the weekdays, it is good to rest from the sad memories and bring the happy ones to light, not everything in life is bad, and of course, things happen to us that hurt and mark us but thanks to them are that we are forging our future and obtaining the necessary maturity to lead a life as it is presented to us.

I hope that for all of you as well as for me there are more happy moments than those that have caused us pain, I really consider that I have a short life just 36 years old, and in this course of my life I have been surrounded by very happy moments I would run out of lines if I name them all, but of course, there are some other memories that are a special part of our way, among these, we could mention my graduation, my relationship, my marriage, the birth of my first daughter, my first job and so many more.

But I have already spoken on the platform of several of them and that is why this time I come to talk a little of the birth of my second child and my only son, my son is called Mathias, he comes to brighten our lives because we learned of the pregnancy shortly after the death of my mother, at first like any pregnancy was a normal development until the fifth month of pregnancy.

In that control the doctor informed us that he observed a cyst in the abdomen of the baby and that it occupied the rest of the abdomen, all the following controls the cyst continued to be observed until the doctor gave us the indications that the baby should be born in the central hospital of the state because it was the only place where any equipment was available at the time of an emergency.

We had already gone to the nephrology and urology department of the hospital to show the results in images of the baby's cyst, their response was that we should wait for the birth, and evaluate in a better way.

The day of his birth arrived, at least that is what my wife and I thought when we arrived early that Saturday at the hospital, it turned out that by that time the hospital had a kind of collapse in the operating room and had many emergency surgeries in queue which took my wife a fasting wait of 26 hours and me outside the hospital super anxious, until Sunday when they finally gave us the news that my wife had entered the operating room and that we should be attentive.

My concern about what could happen when my son was born was not normal, thank God that my wife made contact with a friend of hers from school who worked as a pediatrician at the hospital and it was she who was in charge of receiving and caring for my son.

She gave us the first picture and also went to where I was and told me that everything went very well and that Mathias did not have any apparent problem. However, due to the history of the pregnancy, the child was hospitalized for observation until the nephrologist arrived and performed a medical examination.

We were ordered to perform some ultrasounds, urine tests, and later a cystography, with it was verified that Mathias was born with only one kidney and that the cyst that was observed was a hydronephrotic bag that was in the place where the kidney should be.

With the cystography it was proved that the bladder had no reflux to the healthy kidney, after all these studies and consultations with specialists we were able to get the discharge from the hospital on Wednesday, we spent 5 long days in the hospital solving this situation.

Subsequent examinations showed that the bag was reduced in size without generating any problem, thanks to God, only with only one kidney instead of two, but it works for both.

Nowadays my son is three years old and is in full growth and development with total normality, although these lines describe very little happiness I will summarize that my happiest memory was when the doctor friend of my wife came out and showed me the picture of my son and told me he is doing very well, accompanied by this other moment of great happiness was the moment when at the end of the studies we were discharged with our baby in our arms ready to know the world with his home and big sister.
