I have a tradition of giving on my birthday and today we supplied some stuff to a worthy organization, for their staff's easter party.
Yep! This is the local community garden and I have posted about our first support visit to them HERE
We didn't stay for the party because I don't like a fuss to be made of us, or to be the center of attention, so we greeted, delivered and then departed. To make the hearts of others happy is enough of a bonus for us, not because we are good, or saintly, but simply for being able to give.
Nothing special about it, except that giving makes a person to feel good. We are not better than anyone else, but the difference is that we respect everyone else, rich or poor.
Before I forget, a happy birthday also to @fermentedphil as we share the same date. I am just younger than him. In spirit :)
The second batch of T-Shirts arrived just in time as the garden manager told us that some could not get from the first batch that we delivered and they kept on asking her when the T-Shirts would come.
Take a look at the garden that the volunteer staff, all poor people, work in every day.
As a thank you to @papilloncharity , the center manager sent me the 3 pictures below and she stated that it was a very happy occasion.

To pay for the volunteers lodgings, meals and a bed, the garden hosts community sales of the produce every Tuesday morning. All of the vegetables are organic, and they also offer bottled goods like honey and sauces on sale.
Here was such an occasion on the Tuesday morning when we dropped the donation.
Ultra fresh straight from the ground and very healthy.

I have now had so many birthdays that it would fit a wagon load and since I started working somebody got something on my birthday. They say that old habits die hard, but I will never allow this habit to die. The thing that I hate is bragging. A person might go about bragging how great and clever they are, but when misfortune strikes, they are the first to cry.
So I also don't like to brag about the work that we do at Papillon.
What many do not know, is that we had a recent powerdown on Hive, and we spent more in support than what we received. R40 000 was given to the feeding scheme, R15 000 was given to support a new school's library, and R5000 was given to the Rape crisis centre. If you do the math, you will see that it was much more than what we received from Hive. But, Hive was a big help.
Such is life.
