The "Smorgasbord" - Edition July 18, 2022!
The City Escape (and Scape)
by @ifarmgirl Silver Farm Girl
It's funny how easy it is for us to become so engrossed with other things that at times we forget to have a wee break from all the "busyness" in the mundane things we intentionally put ourselves into. Looking at old photos of places we've been to made me realize we've been missing a lot of adventure especially this year.
I am Pre-retired
by @brujita18
It is in those moments when I long for my retirement, because I think that I have given enough in my main job and now I want to dedicate myself fully to share with you, be more with my family, pamper myself, rest, read, write and above all without so many schedules to fulfill, that is my greatest desire these days, to leave the status of "pre-retired" to finally retired, calm and happy.
Spending power cut time at the beach.
by @papilloncharity Sterling Silver
Our next power cut is scheduled for 4pm today and I think that you can know what a problem these power cuts present to our country and it's people. Small businesses are struggling due to a lack of trade and so many are shutting down. We already have record unemployment figures in the country and the power cuts are very bad news. In the meantime we have to struggle to get our daily tasks done.
Chased by the Ways of the World
by @dswigle Silverswigle
Some things in life are worth doing it again. The exactness of that feeling will never come again, but, the joy? Does it matter when the joy is still there? I have hiked some of the same paths for years, not every time, but, time and again, I come back to revist, look to see the small things I missed on other trips. It is the same trail, but, different view. Do you purposely go a different way?
Generosity of Strangers Speaks Volumes
by @shadowspub
For many years I was the chair of a group of people who put together Christmas hampers for low income members of our community. They would contain toys for children, food for a few days to get them through Christmas and additional food for a Christmas dinner.
Purr-fect Bliss
by @joanstewart SilverStreak
Cats have been domesticated for a long time, one wonders how close to the original cats they are compared to what roamed Egypt years ago. They hunt at night, sitting next to the fire watching them zip up trees in no time at all jumping between trees on high at times where trees grow close together, a problem for bird life at night.
