Sunday things - quite normal

Discovering how to erect - and take down - a gazebo ahead of the Christmas market on 17 December.

And then putting it to bed. For the first time. As one does. On a Sunday.

Over the last year, and as our market is a thing and we're planning at least three "long" markets a year, it made sense to spend all the profit, to date (and some to come) on a gazebo. While it won't be a good thing in wind, it will shade us and it will certainly keep things dry in a shower. As The Husband said, investing in one of these (although we'll probably get wet as we erect it) will take some of the angst out of those damp winter mornings when it's hours of should we, shouldn't we... and will it or won't it.

As an aside, while I often bemoan the South African importation "things" that just don't make sense here, I have to acknowledge that this as a spin-off of the now burgeoning black Friday "thing" that hits us each November.

That'll teach me to be such a grinch!

For the first time in three, it was a pretty regular day. I did address 2kgs of plums, but more of that in another post.

Supper was a simple affair.

Leftover chicken (from Red Earth Farm), cumin, chilli with herbs, onion and sweet peppers. In a wrap.

Bright, tasty and easy fajitas filling for wraps.

Oh, and the salsa: braaied sweetcorn, chopped tomatoes, red onion, fresh dhanya and lime juice. Just divine flavours.

As much as I enjoyed hosting guests for supper, two Sundays in a row, an ordinary Sunday supper ahead of a busy week, is just what the doctor ordered.

Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:

  • re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
  • and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
I blog to the Hive blockchain using a number of decentralised appplications.
  • From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.

  • lastly, graphics are created using partly my own photographs, images available freely available on @hive.blog and Canva.
