I am happy to participate in the Hive Open Mic Week #220 where we explore the theme: "Time", chosen by the talented friend and recent featured artist of our community: @superjavi. In tune, I share with you my interpretation with the trumpet of "Time After Time", a song from the 80s that mixes genres such as pop, new wave and soft rock composed by Cyndi Lauper and Rob Hyman. The lyrics explore the universal themes of love, loss, hope and faith. I love that mantra that emphasizes the idea of a lasting love that stands the test of time. Something curious is that in the song he has brief encounters with the sound of a ticking clock, creating a sensation of the inexorable passage of time. The main chord progression is based on the cycle of fourths, where a couple of cadences are mainly used, such as the plague and the semi-claudula in V. This generates a balance between tension and resolution. I have enjoyed playing this topic a lot, it brings back very pleasant memories of my childhood.

Me siento contento de participar en el Hive Open Mic Semana #220 donde exploramos la temática: "Tiempo", elegida por el talentoso amigo y reciente artista destacado de nuestra comunidad: @superjavi. En sintonía les comparto mi interpretación con la trompeta de «Time After Time», una canción de los años 80 que mezcla géneros como el pop, new wave y el rock suave compuesta por Cyndi Lauper y Rob Hyman. La letra explora los temas universales del amor, la pérdida, la esperanza y la fe. Me encanta ese mantra que enfatiza la idea de un amor duradero que resiste el paso del tiempo. Algo curioso es que en la canción tiene breves encuentros con el sonido de un tic-tac de reloj, creando una sensación de paso del tiempo inexorable. La progresión de acordes principal se basa en el ciclo de cuartas, donde principalmente se usan un par de cadencias como lo son la plagal y la semiclaudula en V. Eso genera un equilibrio entre tensión y resolución. He disfrutado de tocar mucho este tema, me trae muy gratos recuerdos de mi niñez.
Time is a precious gift from God. We have been given to progress, learn and achieve our full potential. Sometimes I start to think about how short earthly life can be. I have seen some loved ones born and I have also seen some leave. It's like an endless cycle. Because this time is limited, it is important to use it wisely. We are each given a personal hourglass and it is our responsibility to invest it in what is meaningful. In my personal life I have strived to put God first, balance my responsibilities, plan and set goals, as well as serve others. In today's world, there are many things that can distract us and waste our time. It's incredible how much time one can waste on social media. It is important to be moderate in all things and make sure that less important things do not consume our lives. Finally, it is vitally important to take time to rest and relax.

El tiempo es un don precioso de Dios. Se nos ha dado para progresar, aprender y lograr nuestro máximo potencial. A veces me pongo a pensar en lo corto que puede ser la vida terrenal. He visto nacer a algunos seres queridos y también he visto partir a algunos. Es como un ciclo sin fin. Debido a que este tiempo es limitado, es importante usarlo sabiamente. A cada uno se nos da un reloj de arena personal y es nuestra responsabilidad invertirlo en lo significativo. En mi vida personal me he esforzado por poner a Dios en primer lugar, en equilibrar mis responsabilidades, planear y establecer metas, así como también servir a los demás. En el mundo actual, hay muchas cosas que pueden distraernos y hacernos perder el tiempo. Es increíble la cantidad de tiempo que uno puede perder en las redes sociales. Es importante ser moderados en todas las cosas y asegurarnos de que las cosas menos importantes no nos consuman la vida. Por último, es de vital relevancia tomar tiempo para descansar y relajarnos.
