Happy week 222, dear friends of Open Mic! It fills me with joy to be here again, sharing this space with the amazing talents of our community. This time, we gather under the theme "Peace", chosen by friend @fab-tay.
Since I knew about the theme for this week, the way to approach this topic came to my mind and I came to the conclusion that there were 2 ways, one would be to choose a song that explicitly said something related to peace and the other would be to choose a song that would give me peace, so without thinking too much I decided for the second option.
About 3 years ago I lived through a rather delicate family situation. At that time, in the few moments I had at home, I took the guitar and simply repeated this song that I share with you today and when I played the chords and sang the lyrics, I felt how my body was filling with peace and the anxiety that at one time made my heart beat very fast, was gradually giving way and only tranquility remained in my mind and heart.
The song that I share with you today is called "La Mano de Dios", by the Dominican singer Jon Carlo. This song came out in 2009 as part of the album "Mi Más Grande Pasión". Its lyrics speak of a power, beyond our own strength that helps us and guides us through the difficulties and challenges of life, that force that is God who intervenes and helps those who place their trust in Him. I hope you like my interpretation.
¡Feliz semana 222, queridos amigos de Open Mic! Me llena de alegría estar aquí nuevamente, compartiendo este espacio con los increíbles talentos de nuestra comunidad. En esta ocasión, nos reunimos bajo el tema "Paz", elegido por el amigo @fab-tay.
Desde que supe de la temática para esta semana se me vino a la mente la manera de abordar este tema y llegué a la conclusión de que existían 2 vías, una sería escoger una canción que dijera explícitamente algo relacionado a la paz y la otra sería escoger una canción que me diera paz, así que sin pensarlo mucho me decidí por la segunda opción.
Hace aproximadamente 3 años viví una situación familiar bastante delicada. En ese tiempo, en los pocos ratos que tenía en casa, tomaba la guitarra y simplemente repetía esta canción que hoy les comparto y al tocar los acordes y cantar la letra, sentía como mi cuerpo se iba llenando de paz y la ansiedad que en un momento hacía latir muy rápido mi corazón, poco a poco iba cediendo y solo quedaba tranquilidad en mi mente y corazón.
El tema que hoy les comparto se llama “La Mano de Dios”, del cantante dominicano Jon Carlo. Este tema salió en el año 2009 como parte del álbum “Mi Más Grande Pasión”. Su letra nos habla de un poder, más allá de nuestras propias fuerzas que nos ayuda y nos guía en medio de las dificultades y desafíos de la vida, esa fuerza que es Dios que interviene y ayuda a quienes depositan su confianza en Él. Espero que les guste mi interpretación.
