Me considero un fan de esta canción, pero jamás pensé que llegaría a lo que ha conseguido todos los récords que ha impuesto en redes sociales y todas las versiones que han salido en internet de distintas partes del mundo, tanto así que el exitoso cantante canadiense Justin Bieber quiso formar parte el tema y de esa forma el tema se internacionalizó aún más, se podría decir que es una de las canciones más influyentes de este siglo en cuanto a su género musical.
En cuanto a premiaciones en su año arrasó con los Grammy latinos consagrándose con mejor canción del año, mejor grabación del año, entre otros, pero mi inspiración para cantar esta canción fue un recuerdo del año 2018, en un encuentro cultural con canadienses nos pidieron que tocáramos despacito para ellos y fue un inmenso placer para nosotros saber que ellos no les importaba la barrera del idioma, sino que sabían apreciar la buena música.
