Hive Open Mic Week Number # 184 ( Journey - Who's Crying Now ) Solo Cover By: @discouragedones

Hello to all my friends. i'm so glad to participate again at Hive Open Mic. for this week this theme is chosen by our community's recent Spotlight Artist: @kococuatro. Everyone is encouraged to express and connect through: Sabor. Journey's "Who's Crying Now" solo. My Favorite band and guitarist, Neal Schon is one of my favorite guitarists and as well as my biggest influence, attempting to cover this solo, good and not so good. this one by request from one of my old friends. one of my favorite solos ever. this solo is simple but incredible.

"Who’s Crying Now” is a song by Journey from their album "Escape" [1981]. it was a million-selling RIAA Gold-certified single. this song was written by Jonathan Cain and Steve Perry. the song peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #46 on the UK Singles Chart. Until Don’t Stop Believin’ it was their highest charting single in the UK. Neal Schon plays a very melodic guitar solo that according to some sounds somewhat similar to Santana.According to Schon on In the Studio with Redbeard, he recorded an aggressive, experimental guitar solo which he liked but Perry and Cain did not. He then recorded a second solo, the "simplest thing he could play off the top of his head" as recalled by Perry. That one was appreciated much more by the rest of the band. It goes to show that playing something musical (as opposed to shredding) pays off!.

I use a Ibanez X Series XP 300FX from 2004 (I removed the tone pot and moved the volume over) into a BOSS GT100 (where I get my tone) into a Palmer Pdi-09 (which simulated a mic'd up cab) into a Focusrite Scarlett into my computer running Logic Pro X (where I add a little EQ and Reverb).

Lyrics:

It's been a mystery
But still they try to see
Why something good can hurt so bad
Caught on a one-way street
The taste of bittersweet
Love will survive somehow, somewhere
One love, feeds the fire
One heart, burns desire
I wonder who's crying now?
Two hearts, born to run
Who'll be the lonely one?
I wonder who's crying now?
So many stormy nights
So many wrong or rights
Neither could change their headstrong ways
And in a lover's rage
They turn another page
The fighting is worth the love they save
One love, feeds the fire
One heart, burns desire
I wonder who's crying now?
Two hearts, born to run
Who'll be the lonely one?
I wonder who's crying now?
Only so many tears you can cry
'Til the heartache is over
And now you can say your love
Will never die
Whoa ooh ooh, ooh ooh
One love, feeds the fire
One heart, burns desire
I wonder who's crying now?
Two hearts, born to run
Who'll be the lonely one?
I wonder who's crying now?
