【The Lost $1】- A brain teaser about the lost $1
One day, three people went on a trip. When they arrived in a small town, they found a hotel and wanted to stay. The hotel owner told them that a room would cost $30, so they decided to rent the room together. They paid $10 each and went to the room. The innkeeper later decided he had charged them too much and should have only charged $25, so he sent a waiter to give them the remaining $5. The waiter saw that the three of them were in the same room, so he took $2 of the $5 and gave them the remaining $3. Each person actually paid $9 (the original price was $10), and $9 times 3 people equals $27. The $2 the waiter took plus the innkeeper's original $25 equaled $27. So where did the last $1 go?
The answer is in the brain teaser in the next issue. Stay tuned for the next episode of Brain Teasers.
