ABANDONED CHURCH
After the end of the Second World War, the Poles chased the count away or simply left. We don't know for sure. Neither the castle nor the associated castle church have been used since then. The castle is now only a ruin and probably no longer salvageable. You can see what the church looks like now in the pictures. There are plans to restore the church and use it for cultural purposes.
Nach dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs haben die Polen den Grafen verjagt oder ist einfach abgehauen. Man weiß es nicht so genau. Weder das Schloß noch die dazugehörige Schloßkirche wurden seitdem genutzt. Das Schloß ist nur noch eine Ruine und wahrscheinlich nicht mehr zu retten. Wie die Kirche jetzt aussieht könnt ihr auf den Bildern sehen. Es gibt Pläne, die Kirche zu restaurieren und für kulturelle Zwecke zu nutzen.
The building fabric is actually still quite good. The walls are stable and the roof is tight. The door is well closed. So the church is well protected against vandalism. The windows are bricked up so that the air can circulate through the church. Only the pigeons that nest in the church, especially the hundredweight of pigeon shit they produce, could damage the building in the long run.
Die Bausubstanz ist eigentlich noch ganz gut. Die Mauern sind stabil und das Dach ist dicht. Die Tür ist gut verschlossen. Somit ist die Kirche gut vor Vandalismus geschützt. Die Fenster sind so zugemauert, dass die Luft durch die Kirche zirkulieren kann. Einzig die Tauben die in der Kirche nisten, vor Allem die Zentner an Taubenscheiße, die sie produzieren könnte auf Dauer dem Bauwerk schaden.
Someone could use the organ, probably the scrap dealer. It wasn't exactly safe to be up there, but what wouldn't you do for a good picture?
Die Orgel konnte irgendjemand gebrauchen, vermutlich der Schrotthändler. Das war nicht ganz so ungefährlich da oben rumzuturnen, aber was tut man nicht alles für ein gutes Bild?

Die Vorfahren das Grafen hat ebenfalls irgendjemand mitgenommen. Die drei Sakorphage in der Kirche sind leer.
This was a very special trip to a very special place in neighbouring Poland. Maybe I will find more such special places soon. But I don't have much hope. I've been photographing lost places for so long that I always think I must have seen everything at some point. I certainly haven't, but some colle Lost Places are just too hard to get into.
Das war ein sehr besonderer Ausflug an einen sehr besonderen Ort im Nachbarland Polen. Vielleicht finde ich demnächst noch mehr solcher besonderen Orte. Aber sehr viel Hoffnung habe ich nicht. Ich fotografiere schon so lange Lost Places, dass ich immer denke, dass ich irgendwann alles gesehen haben muss. Das habe ich zwar ganz bestimmt nicht, aber in einige colle Lost Places kommt man auch einfach nicht rein.
