Uno de los problemas que se tiene durante la construcción de las casas para las personas es encontrar el espacio adecuada y que ese espacio no pueda presentar en el futuro deslizamientos de tierra, si el lugar elegido, cuando en una ciudad, ya no se tiene tanto espacio, pero se tiene técnicas para poder estabilizar el terreno y poder construir allí.

No se puede construir en todos los terrenos planos ya que muchos de ellos son fértiles y si se usa ese terreno para construir casas, a la larga la cantidad de terrenos fértiles donde se sembrara el alimento para alimentara a a esa población, ya no existirá.

Por eso que muchas veces se eligen terrenos inestables para colocar las casas y así preservar los terrenos fértiles que mantengan la producción alimentaria estable.

Es por esto que se desarrollo la técnica de estabilizar un barranco usando una combinación de una malla de metal que cubre el terreno y las puntas que se ven en la foto de ese barranco están las puntas de cabillas largas que se asientan en la profundidad del terreno y al colocarle el concreto se obtiene así una forma de estabilizar ese terreno, permitiendo construir esos edificios en ese terreno relativamente estable,
