With Dcrops & Hashkings getting what seems like overhauls in their design I thought it fitting to go over a few HIVE / WAX Blockchain games or NFT collections with Farming.
I will likely use the term farming rather loosely here either collections or games with yield farming from ownership or outright agricultural sims like a game about agricultural farming.
Like with every write up this one will have a few NFT giveaways as a chaser to this shot of knowledge.
I would hate to confuse or mislead yield farming it terms of crypto is different from yield farming with NFTs.

Where the farming with NFTs is accomplished via ownership of that collections NFTs, while when yield farming with crypto you relinquish ownership temporarily.
This is not necessarily a requisite when using NFT farming, most of the time NFTs farm just by owning them.
Dcrops
Their name riffed on a game ill get to later that was one of the HIVE blockchains first games Dcity.
While they may be named after Dcity, Dcrops has grown something quite special of their own.
Now they are selling Beta Packs, my Last Dcrops Packs Alpha packs I held on to for a few months then sold for$8 4x what I bought them at $2.
Dcrops is fairly popular for a HIVE title as it has quite the loyal player base due to its profitability.
You can earn Either HIVE or CROP from Dcrops depending upon how you wish to play, more hands off players go the CROP power route.
Now how is it calculated I'm not sure if Beta Packs have a CROP power as its not listed in their FAQ but they are fairly recent so it may need to be updated.
When Alpha packs launched I spent $50 on Dcrops Alpha packs opened a few as I Hodl the other 10 for their crop power a few months letting them make me some HIVE as they appreciate.
Given SIM & Dcity serve a similar purpose in terms or HIVE farming rewards based on ownership Dcrops is both a Yield Farming Farming game from CROP power ownership.
You can also Grow Crops each season using NFTs such as land plots & seeds, you then sell the Crops grown as a game mechanic resulting in CROP rewards at the end of that 14 day season.
The 4 seasons each have their own crops each seed type being only grown in its specified season.
Blue Berry Seeds For instance are grown in the summer season in game only.
You can also participate in quests in game for further rewards playing & they have added Workshop & Construction Game play options.
Dcrops has really grown up over the months & I suggests Fans of either agricultural or yield farming check it out.

Dcity
Now what I like about Dcrops & Dcity is, as a busy person their reasonable.
By that I mean by using CROP power in Dcrops or SIM power in Dcity builds you earn steady HIVE.
Dcity earns SIM & a few other HIVE alts depending upon your Dcity build, a build being your Dcity NFT cities residents, tech, & buildings.
When you own enough SIM in your HIVE wallet 20,000 you earn HIVE daily from their Dcity SIM rewards pool.
You can also earn BEER, WEED, GAMER, or ENTRY in addition to SIM / HIVE from their various rewards pools.
WEED is retrieved via WEED farms in your Dcity Build So yet again this title is both a literal & metaphoric farming.

Hemp or cannabis farming
Slight detour from our regularly scheduled programing, to talk up growing cannabis or hemp.
My personal favorite type of farm is the kind that grows cannabis, Stands to reason same is true with P2E game farms.
Yeah cannabis can get you high, so can oxygen in the right concentration, PSA: Never mix Oxygen & Smoking cannabis its a good way to explode.
Joking aside, our impact on the earths environment, can be partially blamed on the redundant timber industry wood or timber still to this day being used on Paper Products, insulation, particle board, even plywood.
All of those products can be made using byproducts of Cannabis production & or Hemp (same thing).
Rope / fabric made from hemp not cotton is cheaper & less stressful on the environment, cotton basically zapping nutrients from the soil Cannabis does not.
Oh cannabis also does all this 👆, so what I'm saying here is...
Hash Kings (HIVE)
One of my favorite P2E games on HIVE Hashkings has a few forms of NFT farming.
Using an Avatar NFT, Land plot NFT, & Seed NFT + HKWATER ( Both get destroyed) you as the player can farm in game pot plants.
Harvesting them after they yield some BUDS for the player, BUDS have quite a few uses from payment option for purchases & crafting in Hashkings.
Further more BUDS can be Burned via the MOTA pool to gain MOTA .
BUDS Being the swiss army knife of HIVE alts continues to impress as staking it earns the player BUDSX.
Ill get to the other crypto & what they do, just a few more details about BUDS, While not farming BUDS can earned in Raids game type with Hashkings avatar NFTs.
The Raids Game type can be entered with the players desired Hashkings avatar NFTs 1 time daily.
Hashkings actually goes further then their game!?
Bang Defense is a tower defense P2E game on the HIVE blockchain, the Hashkings Devs have been helping with the Bang Defense Tokenomics, & BUDS can actually be earned via playing Bang Defense as well.
The Devs & creators behind Hashkings recognize that the HIVE blockchain is a team effort.
This is how I feel as well weather a project, Dapp, or user HIVE only thrives when we all do, which is actually why I pitched a few designs for Hashkings Hive-Engine crypto.
Still very happy Hashkings staff used my designs I pitched for BUDSX & GEAR on my HIVE posts.
Here seems like a natural Segway to my next point NFT farming in Hashkings can now be done with GEAR Tower NFTs & Water tower NFTs.
Water Tower NFTs can be upgraded for a fee with Higher level Avatars Upgraded Water towers generate more HKWATER via ownership daily.
You need to use HKWATER in game to grow seeds into plants & produce BUDS.
Gear towers function in much the same way Upgraded with higher level avatars generating instead GEAR daily via ownership.
GEAR is used to craft Plagues 👆 or Pesticides 👇 for use in the upcoming game type Farming Wars.
BUDSX earn owners rewards like BUDS regularly depending upon how much you HODL.

Farming tales (WAX)
The first entry in the writeup built on WAX, Farming Tales is actually one of the first Blockchain games I played built on a Game engine.
Farmer Tales actually holds many firsts in my big book of blockchain games that is my HIVE post history.
Like being a vIRL NFT system having certain NFTs from the Farming Tales connected to real life farm plots.
They are currently working on New Wax-Chester a city players can visit while not on their 3d farm growing crops, livestock, & more.

For those unaware Farming Tales is a 3d WAX blockchain game in which you grow NFT crops & livestock across your 3d farm.
Visually stunning it doesn't get much better for a farming sim on or off blockchain.

Blockchain gaming Golden rules
With a Blockchain game you need to strike a delicate balance, Gas fees simply dont work with Blockchain games, for this reason I prefer WAX & HIVE.
After you nix gas fees you need to have a few basics covered.
For starters tokens attached to them need a demand Ideally several use cases, in addition the overall market supply has to be controlled.
To understand how dangerous unchecked artificial 🤑 supply inflation is economically speaking, check the following Game theorist video on how to destroy the Pokémon games economy with the move pay day.
You control the Crypto supply by Ideally having incentive either to burn it spend it or remove it from the market.
Once we have some tokenomics to branch off NFTs also should be rare if not finite in some instances, preferably with burn blend use cases giving players incentive to destroy the NFT.
You can balance a spread sheet all day, the next essential part is about showmanship the hardest part for us tech heads.
Much like a normal video game you need something to grab attention what makes this title stand out.
Basically you need to have this modified RPG loop to at least be challenging, creative, or fun. This is in addition to balancing the assets distribution & value simultaneously.
Finally build a loyal fandom, WAX and HIVE are dialectical in this regard, WAX being easier to access airdrop & promote your project.
HIVE is a little more difficult to use but once your in, its basically for life, the HIVE users tend to be rather loyal to P2E titles on HIVE they find appealing.
Occasionally you get the perfect storm taking place on both HIVE & WAX or their Discord.
Splinterlands is HIVE blockchains perfect storm of a Blockchain game+, using both HIVE, WAX, & now BSC as if it where an art form.

Blockchain games are both a market & a business for both the Game creators, if all goes well for their players as well.
