Literally A Hot Mess

Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!

Here We Are Again!

Frankly guys... I am getting fed up for these Ford Kuga's! Seriously I am! This car frustrated the living hell out of me today and well let's leave it at that ey!
I think it's more the way it was torn down xD! But meh!

What's getting me about these things is that the newer they become the more crap there is filling every gap! Seriously? How did we go from clean and neat engine bays to a bunch of wires and pipes? Like how? There use to be one inlet radiator hose and one outlet and that was that!

Sheesh! Buckle up!

The Belly Of The Beast!

It's not exactly a beast but it does look like a fat old beast's belly! Doesn't it?

Ugly as can be!

So I've fitted three different Kuga's in the last week and boy oh boy I can tell you that this one is the least favourite of mine! The least!

It also has the new type transmission! But it's not the transmission that upsets me so... it's the things that bolt onto it! Hectic stuff and there are thousands of those things!

There Is The Culprit!

This goes without saying but I'll say it anyways! I don't like this!

Well okay I've pushed in a DCT-250 this week along with the DCT-450 and the DCT_470. Well not this week but over the last two weeks!

NOW I get to fiddle with the newer gen stuff! Sigh! They made it worse though! It's a nice build on the inside but this thing! Hectic! It's called a VF4 or something... something stupid!

Now I'm glad I always check everything! Because this could have costed me a great deal of pain! More on the lines of a head ache but dang!

Take A Look At This!

Whelp!

I'm glad I spotted this because heck! It would have caused me a hardy headache! A HARDY ONE!

Anyways check out the width of the threads I know it's hard to see but then take a look at the second photo! Might want to zoom in ey, but check how there's more silver than black between the threads, yeah that's a thread that is ripped up there!

The funny thing is two of the studs were tucked up real good! Hectic to who ever fitted this before me... Hectic!

Zoom in on this...

A Few Ways To Solve A Problem.

There are really... well two actually... The right way... or the wrong way...

The wrong way is trying to tighten a nut on the studs and hoping for the best... with way too much locktight added it might seize up the converter seal...

Or.

The right way with a nice dye and a good amount of oil, yeahp some bloaks go all in there dry as the desert! HEH! Never a good idea. Oil it up, anything that takes friction!

No puns intended though! xD

Insanity I Tell You!

Check out all the water pipes! Way too many! WAYY TOOO MANNYYY!!!!

Isn't this the definition of madness? "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting things to change." Well Ford... That's not going to stop those motors from blowing up ey!

There is one steel pipe that doesn't belong to a cooling line, of sorts... It's the blower motor.... So yeah!

Another thick one right where I need to work!

20240910_145347.jpg

The thick one leads up over the transmission and splits into a chamber of like six more... Not sure why I didn't get a photo of that? But meh! You can see on the far right in the middle is another block splitting up.

It's literally a hot mess of everything right? Like who can ever figure out what's going on there? It's a real damn mess!
