Greetings friends of #hivemotors! Today I share with you a repair done at home, as I had some collectors clogged by sediment accumulated over time.
It turns out that thanks to a neighbor who had done the same work, a plumber was recommended and promised us that in a few minutes he could solve the problem.
The truth is that I am used to plumbing jobs in the house are solved with only using hand tools, and a few days ago I had to solve a problem of a leak in a wall that came from the bathroom pipes and to solve had to uncover the entire wall, which required hours of hard work using the tools that the worker had on hand, hammer and chisel, which solves the problem but the time it takes is considerable, as well as the use of materials to rebuild again the extracted parts of the wall, I do not say money because the specialized service is charged at such a price that there is no saving even if you do not have to remove material.

In that opportunity we found a leak in a pipe fitting, (a T of galvanized material that usually generates residues with the passage of time by the oxidation of the material), while also the parts were replaced by similar materials and took advantage of the fact that the wall was uncovered to replace similar parts so that they do not affect in the future.
But in this case the situation was on the floor and there I could not afford to break the tile to replace parts and besides I am not talking about white water pipes but waste water.
When the plumber arrived, he showed up at the door with this red equipment that is specifically designed to solve blockages in pipes, called polypig (where I live it is known as the cochinito) is a plunger that enters the pipe and when it passes it unlocks the element that is obstructing and if it is sediment, it pulverizes it and in a short time it can solve the problem of the pipe.
Well in this case the element that enters the pipe is similar to a metal spring that being flexible can enter very far into the pipe, and with its application at the top has an equipment that generates oscillatory movements that allow the entry of the "spring" as well as remove what has the pipe or drain clogged.
The truth is that it requires some expertise to handle the equipment because being a flexible metal element driven by a motor, this can go anywhere and can even represent a danger of cutting, in addition to infection by the type of fluids that are handled in these works.
As indicated by the plumber after a few minutes working on the pipe, he asked me to pour a lot of water in the drain and indeed whatever was clogging it was removed, he tells me that when it is sediment you can not see what was clogging it but he usually finds rags that are used to plug the pipes that then enter the drain and end up generating these problems.

In the end I'll take the best of both worlds, there are cases in which you can uncover, but there are also tools that allow easier jobs, the important thing as users of the houses is to be aware of the operation and maintenance of things to be able to solve quickly, and suitable for our needs.

Saludos amigos de #hivemotors! Hoy comparto con ustedes una reparacion realizada en la casa, ya que tenia unos colectores tapados por el sedimento acumulado con el tiempo.
Resulta que por gracias de una vecina que habia realizado el mismo trabajo fue recomendado un plomero quien nos prometio que en unos minutos podria resolver el problema.
La verdad que estoy acostumbrado a que los trabajos de plomeria en la casa se resuelvan con solo utilizar herramientas manuales, ya hace unos dias atras tuve que resolver in problema de una fuga en una pared que provenia de las tuberías del baño y para resolver se tuvo que destapar toda la pared, lo cual requirio horas de trabajo pesado utilizando el trabajador las herramientas que tenia a mano, martillo y cincel, lo cual resuelve el problema pero el tiempo que se tarda es considerable, asi como el uso de materiales para reconstruir nuevamente las partes extraidas de la pared, no digo de dinero pues el servicio especializado lo cobran a tal precio que no hay ahorro asi no se tenga que retirar material.

En esa oportunidad encontramos una fuga en un accesorio de la tuberia, (una T de material galavanizado que suele generar residuos con el paso del tiempo por la oxidacion del material), mientras que igualmente se sustituyeron las piezas por materiales similares y aproveche que estaba la pared descubierta para poder sustituir piezas similares para que no afecten en el futuro.
Pero en este caso la situacion era en el piso y alli no podria darme el lujo de romper la ceramica para reemplazar piezas y ademas no estoy hablando de tuberias de aguas blancas sino de aguas de residuo.
Al llegar el plomero, se aparece en la puerta con este equipo de color rojo que esta diseñado especificamente para resolver obstrucciones en cañerias, llamado polypig (en donde vivo se le conoce como el cochinito) es un embolo que entra en la tuberia y al pasar destraba el elemento que este obstruyendo y si es sedimento, lo pulveriza pudiendo en poco tiempo resolver el problema de la cañeria.
Bueno en este caso el elemento que entra en la cañeria es de apariencia a un resorte metalico que por ser flexible piede entrar muy lejos en la cañeria, y con su aplicacion en la parte superior tiene un equipo que genera movimientos oscilatorios que permiten la entrada del "resorte" asi como remover aquello que tenga la cañeria o sumidero obstruido.
La verdad que se requiere de cierta pericia para manejar el equipo pues al ser un elemento de metal flexible accionado por un motor, este puede ir havia cualquier parte y puede incluso representar un peligro de corte, ademas de infeccion por el tipo de fluidos que se manejan en estos trabajos.
Tal y como indico el plomero liego de algunos minutos trabajando en la tuberia, me pidio que vertiera bastante agua en el sumidero y efectivamente aquello que lo estuviese tapando se retiro, el me dice que cuando son sedimentos no se logra ver que lo tapaba pero que usualmente se encuentra con trapos que se usan para tapar las tuberias que luego entran en el sumidero y terminan por generar estos problemas.
Realización del trabajo de la cañería
Al final me quedo con lo mejor de ambos mundos, hay casos en los cuales se puede destapar, pero tambien hay herramientas que permiten relizar trabajos mas sencillo, lo importante como usuarios de las casas es estar oendiente del funcionamiento y mantenimento de las cosas para poder resolver de forma rapida, e idonea para nuestras necesidades.
