In our country it is very common (since always) to have air conditioning systems in our houses; central airs, airs even in the kitchen and even in the rooms, that is to say, we do everything with air conditioning.
En nuestro país es muy comun (desde siempre) tener sistemas de aire acondicionados en nuestras casas; aires centrales, aires hasta en la cocina y aparte en los cuartos, es decir, todo lo hacemos con aire acondicionado.
This is a consequence of the eternal heat that we live in our country and we constantly need to keep ourselves in cold and acclimatised spaces in order to be able to function or at least not literally die of heat.
Esto es consecuencia de los eternos calorones que vivimos en nuestro país y constantemente necesitamos mantenernos en espacios frios y aclimatados para poder funcionar o al menos no morir de calor literalmente.
Speaking of my equipment, it is a Haier brand 18,000 BTU air conditioner. I bought it new since 2020 when I moved to my new home. The air covers an area of more than 30m which involves the living room/kitchen, two bedrooms and the hallway part of the house. There are times when I have to wrap up warm to get through the day ❄️.
Hablando de mi equipo, es un aire marca Haier de 18.000 BTU. Lo adquirí nuevo desde 2020 cuando me mudé a mi nuevo hogar. Les comento que el aire cubre una superficie de mas de 30 m que implica la sala-cocina, dos habitaciones y la parte del pasillo ¡Todo eso queda frio! Incluso, hay ocasiones donde debo abrigarme para pasar el día ❄️.
My air is from a window and it is located about a metre and a half above the floor, so its air hits the chairs and tables directly. I make this description because it allows me to have direct air for when I do things, the bad thing is that it is right where the kitchen is and I have to divert its air to be able to cook well.
Mi aire es de ventana y está ubicado a aproximadamente metro y medio del suelo, por lo que su aire pega directamente a las sillas y mesas. Hago esta descripción porque me permite tener el aire directo para cuando hago las cosas, lo malo es que queda justo donde esta la cocina y debo desviar su aire para poder cocinar bien.

I maintain it every six months or when for example I do a job that involves dust, cement, then I clean it so that its filters don't get clogged and it can continue to work better.
El lavado Yo le hago mantenimiento cada seis meses o cuando por ejemplo hago un trabajo que implica polvo, cemento, entonces lo limpio para que sus filtros no se tapen y pueda seguir funcionando mejor.
In all this time I have done 6 maintenances, including the last one done in the last few days. It had taken a long time because my brother was in charge and he was always busy.
En tanto tiempo le he hecho 6 mantenimientos, contando este último realizado en días pasados. Había tardado porque mi hermano era el encargado y siempre estaba ocupado.
Apart from maintenance, I have changed some capillaries, put a layer of asphalt on its sheet so that it does not rust and opened two holes so that its water drains better. This has allowed me to keep my air in optimal working condition.

It all started with turning the air down due to my insistence that it was freezing during the nights or the day, and when it was running normally, it was not cooling as it always has. As it was off, we postponed the washing but we couldn't postpone it any longer.

Well, the washing started by removing the parts that should not get wet, and we started to clean what should be cleaned such as the fan and the hive. My brother told me that in previous washes they hadn't done it properly and that's why you could see the dust sticking to it, which can only be removed with special products, but they haven't been seen here to buy them.
Bueno, el lavado comenzó por quitar las partes que no deben mojarse, y comenzamos a limpiar lo que debe limpiarse como el ventilador y la colmena. Mi hermano me dijo que en lavados anteriores no lo habían hecho correctamente y por eso se veía el polvo pegado que solo se quita con productos especiales pero que aquí no se han visto para comprarlos.
As the wash progressed, he was explaining technical things and proper maintenance, where we could notice that the asphalt bottom poured on the floor (base) of the air, is still doing its job but that in the next wash, we were going to make a touch-up to preserve it and not lose its functionality.
A medida que iba avanzando la lavada, me iba explicando cosas técnicas y mantenimiento adecuado, donde pudimos notar que el fondo de asfalto echado en el piso (base) del aire, aún sigue haciendo su trabajo pero que en la próxima lavada, le ibamos a hacer un retoque para conservarlo y no pierda su funcionalidad.
Then we let the pieces dry and we lift it up. A curious fact is that it weighs more going down than going up, counting that I'm the one who helps to do that job, does the dirty one weigh more? Or if there is a more technical explanation I would appreciate it.
Luego dejamos secar sus piezas y lo subimos. Un dato curioso es que pesa más bajándolo que subiendo, contando que yo soy la que ayudo a hacer ese trabajo ¿El sucio pesa cierto? O si hay una explicación más técnica le agradezco compartirla.
In the end, we lasted about 4 hours between washing, drying and reassembling, then cleaning up the mess around us and reducing the heat of being without air in the house for so long.
Al final, duramos unas 4 horas entre el lavado, secado y vuelto a montar, para luego limpiar el desastre de alrededor y aminorar el calor de estar tanto tiempo sin aire en la casa.
What happened?
Well, I would like to say that there is a happy ending but there is not. That same night the air froze again and didn't cool at all, it was worse than before. It should be noted that gas had been bought and a little was poured in but it was working like "choked" I don't know what the term is but it was something like forced and it was shutting off, something was not right.
The gas for that air is valued at 62 psi and I had it at 43 psi that's why we put a little more, but when these irregularities occurred, we decided to take other actions that I will tell you in another publication, so stay tuned because it was not easy to find this explanation or the solution.

¿Qué ocurrió? Bueno, me gustaría decir que hay un final feliz pero no es así. Esa misma noche el aire volvió a congelar y no enfriaba nada, estaba peor que antes. Cabe resaltar que se le había comprado gas y se echó un poco pero estaba trabajando como "ahogado" no sé como será el término pero era algo como forzado y se me apagaba, algo no estaba bien. El gas para ese aire está valorado en 62 psi y lo tenía en 43 psi por eso, fue que le colocamos un poquito más, pero al presentar estas irregularidades, decidimos tomar otras acciones que le contaré en otra publicación, así que esten pendientes porque no fue fácil dar con esta explicación ni la solución.
