Xabi Alonso, Mikel Arteta, Thiago Motta, Xavi Hernandez, even Cesc Fabregas. They are the young brand of coaches making waves and doing wonders currently(Xavi Hernandez, recently released by Barca,wasn't because he was poor). So we can say Vincent Kompany is in good company right? Or wrong?
Early Days
Okay at a time it was only a speculation, then later it became a real interest for Kompany from Bayern, but they had a few reported options too. At this time, I responded to a post by Fabrizio Romano where he announced Bayern's interest in Kompany. People scoffed at Bayern and here was my comment, verbatim:
"You need to see the laughs that accompanied this[the Fabrizio post]. I know laughs will accompany this[my note] here too.
They would say is Bayern crazy?; what has the coach achieved?; Bayern has lost ambition.
But ofcourse like I keep saying, as much as results are important, never be a slave of results.
The brain and mentality of a coach is key. Bayern aren't out of their minds. Credit to Kompany even if he finally doesn't get the job."
He Got it Finally
Well today it's no longer news that Kompany landed the job. Burnley received a €12m compensation fee and Kompany’s lawyers agreed to a three year contract, until June 2027.
Reacting to this, the scoffers continue their thing, whilst others are scared that it's a huge leap for Kompany, moving from Burnley(he handled this past season) that got relegated under his watch to a Champions league winner like Bayern.
Well for me, I choose to toe a different line, more in keeping with my quote above. First off his Burnley experience in the EPL was a about a club not have the financial muscle to cope, especially being in the most competitive league in the world. You can't blame the coach, especially as Burnley showed notable traces of what Kompany really wanted them to play.
Also, I'm quite sure that a lot of people mocking the choice of Kompany, don't know hom as much as Bayern does.i call them "Naysayers Republic".

Secondly who told people that Bayern Munich must act(or keep acting) like the Mr.Abramovich Chelsea era, where immediate results was the goal. Infact for me, hiring and firing of coaches at the slightest provocation(or something) is not a sustainable way of running a club or any forward thinking institution for that matter.
Just seeing their interest in him alone tells anybody with a clear mind that a "project" is their intent, they are not bent on instant results.
What even baffles me is when I see some Arsenal fans joining to mock Bayern's choice. How do you mock a model you are currently employing? 🙂
Only for me to see a legit report sometime back–

It confirms my thought. "Potential" they said. Meaning it's step by step. Glory must not be suddenly.
Infact I think that the Arteta employment or model is leaving an impression in some clubs and they are willing to go the way of patience.

Xavi, Mikel Arteta, Xabi Alonso, Marseca, Robin Amorim and now Vincent Kompany. That's Kompany in good company.
