Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Since Davao is reverted to less strict Alert level 2, my former gym decided to open. Finally, after 2 years! I can go back to training. I missed contact sports, to be honest.

This was my playground before the pandemic. This is where I used to go almost every day pre-pandemic. I started my Muay Thai journey here in 2018, then I switched to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2019 up until now.

They opened on Feb. 21, 2022. I just signed up yesterday, and it was the first day of NO-GI class. To be honest, I don't really like NO-GI (no kimono) class. It's not that I hate it, I guess I'm just not into it. LOL BUT, I still tried though, I have to.

So yeah, we had our 1st day of NO-GI class. It was so tiring, but we totally had fun. We really missed training jiu-jitsu. Also, there are more girls this year than before, which is nice. Our lesson yesterday were basic guard passes, and Darce choke. I wish I could take a photo of our lesson yesterday, but I can't cause I'm shy with our sensei lol.

So we're back to basics. We had some drills and sparring after the drills. We usually start our class from 7 pm to 10 pm.

This is the 1st floor. This is where they do the boxing, circuit training, and a little bit of lifting weights.

And this is the 2nd floor. This is where we do Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes. The mats were used to be white, but they changed it to black, which is cool.

These are my Jiu-Jitsu mates. The third guy from the right is our sensei. He's a brown belt in Philippine National Jiu-Jitsu Athletes, and he's really young. I think he's 24.

More choking and bruises to come. LOL
